Now that this is installed, I am fairly ok with it, but then I remember how frustrated I was trying to install this keypad deadlock. It took me hours, when it really shouldn't have. The directions are terrible. The latch and deadbolt were the easy part, and everything after that took me hours to get installed in what I hope is the correct way? First off, I measured my exterior door to ensure this item would fit before I even ordered this. My door thickness is well within the parameters of this item and is a standard size, yet NONE of the screws included fit the length of the mounting plate to the exterior keypad. NONE. Second, it is definitely unclear from the instructions which side of the mounting plate goes which way, and is super odd, considering the word "up" is on the latch so you do not install it upside down? Actually, my mounting plate looks nothing like the one in the "instruction manual" so that is probably part of the issue. It is also not clear where exactly you are supposed to secure the plate to the door, and I figured that out after drilling multiple holes in my steel door. smh. There are way too many holes in the base plate that I guess you don't even need. Now after figuring out that you need the holes that match the keypad on the other side, I went through all of the included screws, they were ALL.TOO.SHORT. As mentioned above. Then I went through all of the five million screws I have in my toolboxes, and ONE, JUST ONE fit both the base plate and the keypad holes. You need a screw that fits through the baseplate but the head of the screw must be large enough to not go through, and then it has to fit the threads of the hole on the keypad itself, AND be long enough. *)#@Y^ &{$@&* If these were included, it would have saved me SO MUCH TIME. So now there is only one screw holding the keypad to the plate on the other side of the door, when there should be two. Lovely, and it does move from time to time. This is probably my biggest peeve, if you are including mounting hardware for a product, it should fit your product! The product manual is also just as bad. For some unknown reason, there are two lines of boxes for every function, which just makes it confusing. I eventually figured out that the second line of boxes should describe what the above box is doing, but the translation is odd, plus it has weird spaces. Included picture ha. If I had it to do over again, I would not have ordered this item, I was cursing way too much during installation and only hope the neighbors couldn't hear me.
