This pan is heavy and sturdy. It’s well made but the silver is ugly. I bought it because it was cheaper. I see now why it was at a discounted price. Saying that though, it still works well.

I had high hopes for this pan. We’ve been considering a large cast iron pan or Dutch oven for a while. I really thought this would be it! Pros first: The pan is a great size and has nice deep sides without venturing into saucepan territory. The handle is also suitably short, making the pan easier to handle and ensuring it fits in most ovens. It’s well made, and the coating is smooth and has no blemishes. Now the cons: The lid does not have ridges on the inside. That sounds minor, I know. However, for braising you want those ridges. They ensure even basting while cooking. The ridges cause the condensation to drip down at each of the ridges rather than travel to the edge of the pot before dripping. Next is the nonstick coating. I though this would be the best of both worlds — cast iron performance and searing capability without the maintenance. Nope. This thing needs to be babied just like any other nonstick pan. Possibly more so. The result is a pan that has all the weight of cast iron and all the limitation of nonstick pans. I would not purchase this pan again and cannot recommend it to others. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I am a raving Bruntmor fan. I purchased the 2 in 1 Dutch oven first. I was impressed with it, I purchased a 2 in 1 casserole dish, and again, I was struck by the utility, quality, and the value of the product. So my old trust cast iron skillet start bubbling and flaking and I needed a new one. Bruntmor immediately came to mind. I purchase beauty and eagerly awaited its arrival. When it came, I'll pick it up out of the box and immediately felt something strange. The interior was so smooth I thought that perhaps it wasn't cast iron but maybe it was Teflon. So, I started the pre seasoning ritual, even though the Box said that it was preseason and there was no need for it. I've owned cast iron for years and they all say their preseason but it doesn't hurt to put a coat of pre seasoning before first use. How to record off I got my first cooking and I could not be more impressed. As a matter of fact the word impressed is an understatement. Mayday Cajun shrimp and scallop pasta dish in this pan. After I put up the food, I went over to the sink with a little bit of soap and water and it cleaned out beautifully through a coat of oil on it put on the stove heating it up made sure it was dry and again, it feels like Teflon not cast iron. I don't mean to be so effusive but this is the best cast iron object I've ever used. ... show more

I think this is an overall great pan. I think i initially hoped i could use for more things across the board but i think it's best when stir frys and sautees like it's name suggests. I tried to cook Bacon but it ended up sticking. The same with Eggs. So if you are looking for an all purpose pan, this isnt it. It is also very heavy (which i knew it would be) so if you need to use one hand to lift, it's almost impossible. Since i make alot of stir fries, it works great for my needs. ... show more

This pan is very heavy duty, deep pan. It is enameled on the inside, but it is a rough finish enamel. I made a sausage gravy in it and it did not stick at all, nor did it darken my gravy like my regular cast iron. I bought this pan specifically for gravy and tomato based recipes and I think it will serve the purpose very well. Only con would be it is HEAVY you're probably not going to hold it in one hand and scrape the contents into another container.
