I am pleased I purchased this fan with light for my toilet closet (about 3' x 5'). It moves the air, the light is very good, and the noise is not nearly as obnoxious as the fan it replaced. I just finished the installation, but initially at least it has every appearance of being very well-made. Everything fits together nicely, all the parts were there, it was packaged well so no shipping damages, & the instructions are satisfactory. HOWEVER, some reviews have said this fan can be installed from the room side without going into the attic -- I heartily disagree. If you have attic access, it would, I think, be reasonably easy to install. But I had no attic access -- my installation was in the first floor ceiling, between joists that support my second floor. It was a bear to do without attic access. There are some other makes / models that say they can be installed from the room-side only -- I have my doubts. Be sure to pull down their installation instructions and read them carefully before purchase, if that is your situation. ... show more

Liked how quiet the fan operated and the light was bright. Installation was relatively easy except for the cover--it was a piece of junk and fit loosely. Also, this was a retrofit installation and when I screwed the metal box to the ceiling joist, the other side of the box canted up. I solved this problem by framing out from the next joist so I could screw the box to the wooden framing I added. This made the box solid and I believe helped the fan run quieter. ... show more

I bought this Broan Nutone because I have bought this manufacturer in the past and been satisfied. The light and fan operate well. The fan is as advertised. The problem that I had was with the plastic cover that is fitted with those cantankerous spring steel prongs that are in so many ceiling fixtures. These unfortunately are very difficult to deal with and did not function properly. Perhaps I do not know the trick, but if there is one, it was not in the instructions. When I did get them in, they were not strong enough to hold the cover with light flush with the ceiling. My other complaint is that the exhaust manifold is plastic and the exhaust hose must be taped on. I prefer metal so I can use a clamp for a much sturdier installation. ... show more

I purchased two to replace my old bath fans, and installed both the first of Feb, 2022. The only difficulty was, of course, having to go into the attic to install box onto a stud, and sealing the boxes... had to widen/extend one stud with additional wood to place one of the fans properly. Ceiling paint touch up needed. Had no problems with fit, and cover went on easily. Hopefully, the next time there is a need to replace, I will only have to replace the motor...no attic work. Fan noise is minimal, (low humming) of course I am comparing to my old loud ones. Yes, the light is bright, but that works for me, and I like the fact that replacement lites are available, if needed. My old fans lasted almost 20 years, and I hope these measure up! ... show more
