This seemed a little more expensive than other motion operated LED lights, but we wanted something that was good looking to light up the concrete steps that led up from the sidewalk to our walkway. We could not have been happier with this light. It installed easily, works perfectly, and looks great. It has survived weeks of sub-freezing temperature, snow, rain, and just keeps working. We originally thought about getting two to cover our 5 ft wide stairway, but one is enough. You can see in the video how it turns on when you get within about 8 ft. of it. Clean lines, sturdy, nice glow at night. Not to bright, chose the warm light which gives a warm glow. Plenty of light to see to walk down a path. We put 3 in go a path about 15-18ft long and does the job nicely. They charge well. And are still on when I get up at dawn. We have about 11 hours of darkness so that’s pretty good. We were very pleased with how these lights look. They are bright and did a good job lighting our sidewalk for the short time that they worked. We bought four of them, and three months later, all have failed. They are supposed to have a two year warranty, but their website has no information about how to report a claim. I have emailed them, but even if they ultimately honor the warranty, the failure rate prevents me from recommending them regardless. ... show more

I bought 6 of these and have had them for exactly a year now. Around 6 months in one of them went dead but the manufacturer sent me a new replacement, which was very much appreciated. Reading other reviews, it appears quality control is an issue in general so its good to see that they replace faulty units. I’m no path lighting expert but in my limited searching for lights these were by far the best ones I could find, albeit at a moderately high price point. I ruled out most all the cheap styles that have really low illumination. These are pretty bright when on hi and the three modes of brightness are fantastic, very useful when combined with the built in motion sensor. The four along the path to my front door are always on dim at night to show the path and turn bright when they sense someone walking up the path. The two in my backyard are off until they notice movement approaching the house and then they turn on full brightness, almost like a light motion alarm. These have nice metal poles, making them much sturdier than less expensive all plastic lights. That being said, I do find them to be overpriced. Surely a competitor will eventually duplicate these features and quality for half the price. ... show more

    • Great pathway/driveway light

I put in 12v lighting along my driveway a few years ago, and wish I had saved the money. It's on a timer, and only runs from dusk to 930 PM. Sometimes I need light at other times (putting out the trash bins early on winter mornings and when guests stay later, but don't want to run the whole light system all the time. These fit the bill perfectly--so much so that I ordered a second and wish I had ordered these before installing the 12v system. Very bright, inexpensive (with no ongoing costs), good design and the aluminum should make them sturdy. No problems with either charging (although I have them set for off until motion is detected and then bright) or motion detection. I wish the time that they stay only after the motion ceases was a little longer (I guessing it's about 10 seconds), but not a big issue. Of course time will tell how long these last, but so far so good! ... show more

Update - after 4 days: The second one of these I purchased and installed seems to be faulty. It comes on for about half an hour, then turns off. I tried turning it off (push button for three seconds to presumably turn off, then pushed button again for three seconds to turn on. It lit for about 15 minutes, then went out. Very disappointing, as the light worked fine the first day or so after install. I will try to contact manufacturer to make warranty claim. The first of these lights that I installed a few days earlier continues to work great. I wanted to have two hard-wired outdoor wall lights on my patio. However, running the electrical looked to be problematic. A friend suggested going with solar lights, so I investigated and found these. These are of metal (aluminum, I think) construction - they seem very substantial. Easy to install. As someone else noted, screwing the side-entry screws to attach the fixture to the mounting bracket can be difficult. Had that problem with one screws on one fixture. Since I didn’t have a magnetic screw driver, I just wrapped some painters tape around the screw head and the end of the screw driver until the screw was threaded. I keep looking at these because they improve the appearance of my patio, day or night. So far, these have come on at dark dusk and remain on for most of the night. I’ve checked on them at 4 a.m. and they were still on. With no noticeable drop in brightness (I’m using the lower brightness setting). One potential future concern: Since these are battery-powered (charged via solar) and batteries eventually wear out, I tried to investigate whether the company sells replacement batteries. I couldn’t find any reference to replacement batteries being sold by the company. I hope those do not become an issue in the future. The only reason I returned this solar light was I didn't get enough direct sunlight in my shady backyard. Otherwise, I like the modern design of the light, it functioned as described and illuminated the area I needed lit. I highly recommend this product.
