Just like the title says, it’s a great starter knife set. I do have to say, these things are RAZOR sharp right out of the box, so watch yourself! Extremely aesthetically pleasing, the unique color and design make them quite eye catching. The handles are a rigid plastic, but there must be some sort of oleophobic coating that aids in them being non-slip. I was cutting pork and bacon for kabobs and the hands tend to get a little greasy. Surprisingly, the knives were still easy to grip! This was a pleasant surprise! The blades appear to have a ceramic coating on them. Not positive if it’s actually ceramic, but it gives the blades a nice feel and protects them from rust. The sheath is almost a much given the sharpness of the blade, especially if storing them in a drawer. If you have a knife block or magnetic strip, you could forgo the sheath. As for the sharpener, I’d personally advise getting a more stable and user friendly one. While it will work as intended, I’m not big on using these hand held knife sharpeners. I have a professional roller that sharpens the knives based on the angle of the blade and prevents you from potentially cutting yourself. One slip of the hand on this handheld one and it’s a trip to the hospital. So use caution if you intend to use it. Aside from that, it’s a great beginner set perfect for a new home, gift or daily use.

I will start by saying that the color scheme is not my favorite as I prefer a more classic, neutral look. I understand that color and style are important to some consumers, so it is worth mentioning that this particular set only comes in this particular set of colors. I do like this set a lot. I find the knives to be sharp, durable, and functional. They work well, they feel solid in the hand, and they are pretty to look at. Beyond that, I appreciate that they come with sturdy sheaths that are color-coded and custom-fit to their corresponding knives. I've mostly used low quality knives in the past so I am used to dull blades, no guards, and no reliable way to sharpen them. This set gave me things that I didn't even know I was missing. I do really like that the set came with a knife sharpener. Although it is simple in design, it is a nice touch and works very well for what it is. While I have yet to sharpen these knives, I did use the sharpener on some of my old dull knives and there was significant improvement. These knives would make a great gift for yourself, for new homeowners, for college students far from home -- anyone, really. I think everyone should have a great set of knives. Cooking is so much easier and enjoyable when you have knives that just work.

This is a great set of knives. The different colors make it easy to grab the one I want at a glance, and the coating helps protect against rust. I like that each knife comes with its own plastic sheath, which makes them safe to store in a drawer. Out of the box they were sharp and ready to use. There’s nothing worse than a dull knife. I’ve used the chef’s knife for chopping vegetables, the paring knife for fruit, and the serrated knife for bread. They’ve all done the job well. The sharpener that comes with the set is a nice bonus. The handles are comfortable to grip, and they have a nice weight. The set covers most of what I need in the kitchen without taking up a lot of space. For the price, it’s a great value, especially since it includes the sharpener and sheaths.

We bought these for our Airbnb-style farmstay & they’ve impressed us more than our own "fancier" knives. First off, the colors are so good. Chic without being flashy & they actually match our rustic vibe perfectly. Each knife comes with its own fitted sheath, which makes it super easy to keep them in drawers without worrying about guests nicking themselves. The handles are grippy, even when your hands are damp from washing veggies or wrangling dishes. They’re comfy, lightweight, easy for guests to use confidently... even total cooking newbies. I'll echo another review that the packaging is not not fancy. But everything arrived in perfect condition, so I honestly appreciated not having all the usual foam & plastic to toss. Less waste, less mess & clearly good construction since nothing arrived scuffed. Haven’t tested them on a gourmet level, but for everyday chopping, slicing & staying organized in a short-term rental it's a 10/10. Bonus: the sharpener actually works. Go figure!!! YAY!!! Disclaimer: I’m a real human. All my reviews are genuine. I only order things I actually use in daily life & review them with honesty, a little humor & minimal fluff.
