    • Good equipment for pre-novice with few actual steps
This was my first "kit" I received and all in all, a little overpriced for what you get. The total combined values of these items is less than others if you purchase the kits separately and you end up with a small fermentor. It's still fairly high quality, with the exception of the bottles which seem fairly cheap (background in plastics molding). For this price, I would simply purchase the following: *1 filling wand *10' length 1/4" OD tubing *1 5 gal fermenter with tap *1 5 gal bottling bucket *Plastic Bottles/caps *1 finished stove top beer kit no boil *1 airlock *1 stirring paddle The price will be comparable and you get the same experience. You get more by purchasing a brew kettle, which is where the actual "beer making" happens to me. With this kit, everything's kind of done for you already. Also the spoon is a little gimmicky, as most recipes will have you dispense priming sugar into the bottling bucket. All in all though, this is a decent starter set for someone who knows nothing of beer making and has no equipment or time to look up what you need. ... show more

    • Loved this! Beer gets better with aging
This was really easy to do and the beer was far better than I thought. I let some of it sit in the fridge for a couple weeks longer and oh my goodness the flavor was really full and amazing. I fully enjoyed the making of this beer. It was easy and fun. I am planning on brewing more. Great product.

    • This product is better than the invention of the wheel!
I bought 2 of these and planning on buying a 3rd conical fermenter. No leaks from the spigot, very important feature. Cleans easy and to sanitize. I usually get 6 1lt and 4 16oz bottles from a batch. Once you drink a batch, you'll never go back (to regular beer).

Ever since the 1st use, the spigot has been a problem, it leaked. It dripped from the spigot and if it was not leaking from the spigot, it was leaking from someplace around the spigot. One night for some reason it just dumped the entire fermenter all over my kitchen. Poor quality? Poor design? IDK, but for some reason the spigot just broke at the tread after only 4 uses. I'm also not certain why the rating would be on the flavor or ingredient quality, the rating should be on this product. ... show more

Quality seems very high. Steps are easy to follow and the kit has everything you need other than filtered or bottled water and a one gallon pot. Got my first batch going the day it arrived. UPDATE Tasting the product early (1 week ferment, 4 days in bottle) and I'm really thrilled with the results. Way better than expected! Only thing that was strange was they mention in the instructions of a bubbler only with the 3 gallon kit, but mine came with a stopper and bubbler on the 2 gallon kit. Threw me off for a few minutes. But can’t knock a star for giving me more options, and the better accessories. ... show more
