My previous trimmer was a much cheaper model (quarter of the price) that served me well for over 5 years. I use a trimmer for just beard and moustache. I've had this new set (9530 model) for around 2 months. The trimer feels quite solid. The plastic feels good in the hand and looks like a quality product. The trimmer is intuitive to use, cuts well and I did not have any issues doing either fixed length work or going guard-free. I like to charge before any travel to avoid having to carry the charger (the charging cable is proprietary) and have not yet run out of battery. The main attraction (and this trimmer's distinguishing feature) was having the length control knob rather than using multiple guards of different lengths. I did not experience any problems with the mechanism but did not love it either: I found myself treble checking that I have the correct length setting, probably because I still have the muscle memory of grabbing a specific guard to trim a specific area. While it's nice to have less pieces to carry around, this takes a bit of a transition coming from a traditional trimmer design. I have not been using the other including accessories regularly, but they also feel solid and well made. ... show more

This is an EXCELLENT trimmer kit. The trimmer action is smooth and effective, and I don't get any snags or pulling with it. This is the first trimmer I myself have used that I genuinely don't worry about nicking myself or having it pull hair no matter where I'm grooming. It's so smooth and requires so little effort that I hardly even deal with that neck twinge reaction when I'm trimming up the hair at the base of my neck. The adjustable guard attachments are great, and the dial adjustment works very well and is easy to use. There is a switch to lock the dial so that you can't accidentally change the height mid-trim. So far I've used the regular trimmer, the body trimmer, and the ear/nose trimmer attachments. All of them have worked well, the only one I had any issue with was the ear/nose hair trimmer (it gets very warm while using it). This is probably partially my fault for not having a trimmer for these areas, so there was a lot of hair to get through, but I had to do one spot at a time and let it cool for a moment between areas because it was getting uncomfortable. I've not used the "precision" attachment yet, as I've not found a need for it myself, but it has the same build quality as the others so I suspect it would perform well. The trimmer itself has a good weight to it, enough to feel high quality and like a premium product, but not so much that it's difficult to handle or maneuver in one hand as needed. The Gillette razor included is very smooth as well, with shaving cream/gel/lather it cuts through my thick facial hair very easily, single pass shave even after 4-5 days of growth (though I do need to rinse out the cartridge more often if it is longer). The cartridge head has some form of built in soothing gel that activates with water/lather to make shaving even smoother and to reduce irritation on freshly shaven skin. This can be kind of off-putting at first just because of how thick and viscous it is, but give it a chance and I think you'll find how much it improves the shaving experience. It can build up though if you are in the same area too much, so I find sometimes spreading it around as another layer of shaving gel works well for it. ... show more

Summary This set has everything you need for beard and body grooming. Great kit, with a 120min battery life. It's pricier than the Series 5, but has more included. If I'm comparing this and the Series 7, this is probably better for people with dense beards. Others the Series 7 is good. L Love that it’s water proof and cordless! You can use this in the shower, using the guards allows for as close a shave as you want. Ear, nose, body and hair attachments make this super versatile. The big feature of this one is the AutoSense technology actively adjusts power based on beard density for consistent cutting force. There's also a PowerBoost for thicker beards, exclusive to the Series 9 A charging stand and a slightly nicer storage case, plus an upgraded blade, but the shave is the same close shave you'd expect. There’s an additional exclusive attachments like a SkinGentle Trimmer and Pro Detail Trimmer both specifically designed for sensitive body areas. Description Accuracy & Quality Braun razors have excellent attachments, give close shaves and have great battery life. I am happy with the quality of this razor. This is upgraded from the Series 5, which doesn’t include a case or stand. It includes more attachments than a Series 7, but push comes to shove the extra attachments and slightly boosted power mode are only useful for those with very dense beards. ... show more
