I am new to this razor and have been a loyal Norelco customer for over 40 years. But the Braun series 8 gives a close, comfortable shave far superior to anything I have tried from Norelco lately. This razor is easy to keep clean. The foil started to get a little warm after being cleaned from the first shave, but a little shaver oil fixed that. Bought this razor to replace a Braun Series 7 razor. Big time improvements. The head is much more mobile for contouring to your face. The trimmer has been moved from the front to the back and is much more secure. The trimmer in the Series 7 was on the front and a little flimsy. I moved to this new model from a much older Series 5 that I thought was just fine…but this is on a whole other level! The cutting block technology is so much better than the older model that you literally can’t even feel the cutting action on your beard. The shaver definitely operates at a much higher vibration/rpm rate which certainly has a lot to do with this ease of trimming the hairs. The rubberized panels on the shaver body feel much better than the hard plastic of the older model, too. Finally, the cleaning/charging base is better designed and slightly smaller than the model 5 and charges faster, as well. Overall, a total 5-star win!!! ... show more

The head does not fit well so it is very loud, and you get lost of shaved hair falling on your clothes (if shaving in the car or office), does not shave clean. And, customer service is terrible... after having it for only one week I called them to ask for help and they told me to use oil to make the machine work better! I ended up sending it back for repair and the box came back exactly as I had packed it, and I mean exactly. I don't believe they even opened it to look at it, and there was no note re any repair, the head was still slightly loss, and loud enough to give you a headache. By this time the 30 day return limit was over so I am stuck!! Good Luck... ... show more
