I have been a faithful R/M customer for years, the 540 series and for the last 6 years the 740 series. Very happy and I did get my money’s worth from them, then like everything has to die so replaced with this model. My first mistake, I don’t believe that the unit was tested outside of a laboratory and it could not have been tested in a truck. First off the way it mounts to bracket, very poor design. Hit one good bump and falls off to the floor. I run the I-5 now and that’s all there is. Had to mount up on Windshield so can rest on dash for support. Now I have to deal with overheating, gets hot and locks up,freezes and looses gps signal on a daily basis and more then once. I bought it back in February and the sun was not an issue. It will freeze or loose gps signal when you really don’t want it to. I wanted it for having the Sirius app and being able to put my music on it(which putting music on unit is a whole new post) I listen to audio books and will shut down when listening to a book, will make a god awful noise through radio system at time and only way to quit is todo a hard reboot. Now back to truck nav, it doesn’t hold memory of previous route when shut down and restart next day.. have to go in and select from history. When driving and map shows a symbol and you want to route to it you can’t push on symbol and add to route like previous models. I will say that this is the worst unit I have ever owned and it wasn’t cheap, well yes it’s cheap but wasn’t inexpensive. I have nothing positive to say about this model and wish I had these issues during the time I could have returned it. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL. Wish I had my 740 back ... show more

It's great but I wish the magnetic mount that holds the tablet was stronger when going over bumps

    • Would not buy again
This gps makes many mistakes. Today when i stopped at a truckstop. It added a extra 150 miles to the trip instead of just rerouting me. I am not a fan of the product. Also the gps falls off the magnetic mount many times if you hit some good bumps in the road. Since my original post the unit froze up and rand mcnally wants to charge me to correct. Dont buy it.
