This is a really good product. I hate shaving, as many men do, but this makes it about as tolerable as it’s going to be. This is an electric razor in the shape of a standard safety razor. The replaceable head houses a vibrating blade that cuts the hairs that are directed into the blade housing through a very fine comb of plastic fingers, both on the push or the pull stroke. (See picture). The advantages of this system are that it delivers a pretty clean shave with few strokes, and it does a pretty good job on those pesky neck whiskers which tend to avoid electric shaver's foil or blade guards. It’s not as good as a blade, but is a great improvement. Norelco also claims their proprietary system offers a low friction, reduced razor burn, shave without the need for cream or even water. This appears to be true. I use it dry and it hasn’t caused my face any burn, but I’m retired and only shave two or three times a week. You working stiffs may have a different experience It does this all while offering a long lasting head. The ad campaign claims it will last four months but I found myself replacing it after two or so. It just seemed to be a little less aggressive but that may have been all in my head. Another advantage of this system is that the razor can be handled like a typical safety razor, i.e. you can grip it underhand and draw it upward under your chin. My old electric couldn’t do that. The only downside is that the replacement heads are a little pricy—about $10.00 a pop, but if you can get four months out of each you’ll save money. My college-age daughter recently purchased a Norelco Philips OneBlade 360 Hybrid Face, Electric Beard Trimmer and Shaver with 360 Blade... for her legs and underarms. I think this razor is designed for men's face shaving, but she figured that it could tackle her long leg hairs. She doesn't really like to shave her legs, so liked the idea that she could use this razor without water, because dry shaving saves water making that utility bill a bit less expensive. She sold me on the OneBlade during one of her phone calls home telling me about her purchase and subsequent use of this tiny machine to plow through her long leg hairs (just like mowing the lawn!), leaving her legs soft and smooth. She said she used it completely dry the first time she used it and found that it works best with a bit of shaving creme to prevent pulling on the more sensitive areas, like under the arms. Following her recommendation, I bought one, as well. I haven't used an electric razor in years and generally use a Schick Hydro Silk, so am un-used-to an electric razor. I didn't follow her directions to use shaving creme and shaved my legs and under arms completely dry. I found that the OneBlade left my legs very smooth to the touch and it didn't pull or cut my skin at all. I slathered on some lotion after shaving just because. However, for under arms, I would definitely recommend using shaving creme! The OneBlade did a nice job of removing hair and my under arms felt very soft and stubble-free, but it left a few little razor bites that didn't feel too great. Next time I will use shaving creme or shave in the shower, so I am sure the results will be better. For a small light weight razor, this machine is a powerhouse. ... show more
