Ok so i rarely ever write any type of reviews for anything, but this was a must. Now the shipping was pretty fast on the sellers part so props to them. I am a young 19 year african american male. Since my first facial hair that started to grow in the 6th grade (yeah i know) i have tried everything under the sun to shave. my hair doesnt grow uniformly like i would like it to dod but it grows sparsely all over my face as a mess. i really hated it. It was such a depressing fact, comming from someone who dresses nicely but my facial hair would mess up the whole outfit.Sucks when youre trying to woo the opposite sex huh. Everytime i went to the barber for a complete haircut and shave of a shapeup it will begin to grow back on the beginning of the 2nd day. It was annoying and expensive to go get a shapeup once a week to control my hair.I bought an andis liner and it was pretty ok until the blade got dull and it wasnt as smooth as i wanted it to be as if i came from the barber Once i began to use electric and ESPECIALLY MANUAL shavors, here comes razor bumps. The multi- blade shavers are great for smooth looks and up close shaving but the irritation afterwards and ever facial killer razor bumps. it was disgusting! all over my neck and face looking like a mountain range! it was painful to touch and had to wait until it went away a week later while my hair is still growing. i hated. i was desperate, i tried nair on my face (disaster). i tried single straight blades, but had terrible technique, electric shavers are pretty expensive. and to be honest most shavers were made for caucasians,not minorities who really doesnt suffer from razor bumps. even the so called sensitive skin razors that wasnt much of a difference. so, i went on a google search and looked up on a solution for weeks. I finally made a search of "bumpless shaver" and was brought to this product. i checked on the reviews and seen other african american reviews and were happy i found something. but the pricing point and some of the negative reviews swayed me away for a week or too. after seeing my facial hair mess in the mirror, i decided to take a chance with this believe its my last option when i first used it i had my beard at the longest length thinking it would work. that first night it didnt do a thing. i was pissedd that i spent $50 on it. i read the manual and tried again, but once again no luck. i honestly believed that nothing would work. i immediately order for a refund and to send it back. due to work (thankfully) i wasnt able to send it back for about 4 days. during those four days i had an important event and went to the barber to clean my face up . on the morning of the 2nd day i saw that my hair was creeping out again. so i tried one more despearte attempt at this shaver. and it was as if god himself was cleaning my face. it was a miracle!!. the little stubble that was growing was gone. absolutely gone. i nearly had tears in my eyes when i saw this. but i did have some facial irriation to this shaver. i was terrified that my face was going to break out terribly because it was such a close shave to the skin and that spells out doom for my face. but nothing has popped up. Over the next couple of nights i continued to shave to prevent my hair from comming back and the irritation slowly went away as my face got used to it. i immediately cancelled my refund request and i will continue to buy this product once this one stop working. now tips to other people: 1) you cannot shave with a full beard and think that it was take it away. look on the holes on the head. it is way too small to fit a fully grown facial hair. its a maintainer not a shaver. 2) also it is pretty noisy but unless you live inside a library, it shouldnt be that big of a problem to hear for less than 5 minutes a day 3) yes yes you pretty much have to shave everyday if u want a clean look. this is for me, other people hair growth rate varies but if it similar to mine pretty much everyday once a day in the night or morning. but less than 5 minutes would be suffice 4)this thing doesnt affect any detailed facial hair designs. i have a goatee and a strip of hair extending from the bottom of my head hair along my jawline to the goatee. it goes right past it without a hair shaved. keeps it tight and clean inbetween haircuts. i hope everyone enjoys this review and it answers your questions about this product ... show more

    • Use it correctly
First off, you need to know what this is for. This is for stubble, not something you buy to shave off long strands of hair. There’s a video of someone trying to shave their chest hair (???) on here and he was upset that it wasn’t working…that’s not what it’s for. Having said that, this thing is amazing, so handy, and definitely just makes life easier. It makes shaving every day, or doing beard maintenance possible. I trim around my beard with it and line up the neck, and it works great. It wont be as close to your face as a razor but its a great alternative, especially if you want to avoid the irritation that comes with shaving every day. ... show more

I have been using Wahl shavers for at least 20 years and I really like them, until the battery stops working at about 5 years. To my knowledge, none of the electric shaver companies design the razers to have the batteries replaced, probably because they want a return customer. That stinks! I'm knocking a star off because I like to own something until it breaks, and not have to throw it away because the battery ran out 5 years later, ... but that being said, in my opinion these are the best shavers out there for the money. This device gives a nice close shave. It does miss a few longer hairs, so I recommend having plastic razor to dry shave those off after the electric shave. ... show more

    • You can get a close shave in under 60 seconds
I bought this shaver to replace an old foil shaver where the battery wouldn't hold the charge past a couple of shaves. When I first opened the shaver, I was amazed at how big the shaver is. It's much bigger than it looks. Definitely not a travel shaver. I also noticed that the plastic housing is not the quality that I expected from a wahl product. I have a wahl hair clipper made out of nice high impact plastic. This plastic feels like it's been recycled or something. When I try to removed the head cover, it was very stiff. I'm afraid of damaging the cutting blades just trying to remove and replace the head. The clear plastic cover that fits over the shaving head is kind of cheap and doesn't click in place. It just sort of "rests" on the head. When I first tried the shaver, the first thing I noticed is how LOUD this shaver is. You might be worried about waking up the rest of the house using this shaver. Okay, now the good parts. The shaver is so wide, and with the double blades, it shaves both close and fast. The lack of a trimmer makes it difficult to get rid of the really long hairs or do any sideburns cleanup. However I still have my old shaver that has a trimmer on it. The shave is so close, I felt a little "burn" after using this shaver in comparison to my last shaver. However, I appreciate that this shaver is so wide, and with the double blades, it's like cleaning up your beard with a combine tractor. You can literally shave your entire face in under 60 seconds! Pro's - Very close shave - It's so big, you can shave yourself in under 60 seconds Cons - Cheap plastic housing - Cheap clear plastic shaver protector - Shaving head is stiff to get on and off - LOUD - Oversized for travel All in all, I'm going to keep it because I like the close shave and speed of it. It's like moving from a lawn tractor to a large combine tractor. The thing just cuts three inch close swaths with every stroke! ... show more

I been struggling with razor bumps for a while and couldn't figure it out like I was back in math class. I started using Cerave renewing SA cleanser and bump patrol max strength along with this shaver and been good! Definitely recommend this product and remember give it a month as it may take time, but I have been happy with product. ... show more
