This is a “must have” tool for anyone replacing brake pads! Its simple and durable design, ratcheting action, and extension pads make compressing caliper pistons easy. Once in place, the two side panels move outward in unison ensuring that the compression is uniform across the face of the piston and resets the surrounding rubber ring simultaneously and without damage. Before this I would use a c-clamp which was clunky at best. The price is reasonable and the results are outstanding! I would easily recommend this to family, friends, and others.

Made my brake jobs far easier and faster. I previously had a screw type piston press, and while it worked, it required i put the old brake on the piston to compress it, and it was done by turning a screw with a PLASTIC knob. Hard to turn when its cold out, hurts your hand, etc. This is far better. It works like any other ratchet, and comes with a large set of pads that magnetically attach for larger vehicles. If you service your own vehicles save your knuckles and wear on your clamps and get these.

Bought this for use on my truck which has dual piston calipers, and it worked great. Like someone else mentioned, the magnets on the longer plates are not very strong. The plates get knocked off easily when trying to place the tool in the caliper, but it still works good enough for 4 stars. Also like already mentioned, and small case/bag would've been great. The cheap box is not suited for repeated use.

Broke after 1st use. Went to finally use it and it worked great on the 1st caliper, but when I went to use it on the other caliper it broke apart. I was able to retract the other caliper with a large channel lock to finish job. DO Not recomended. And very disappointed in quality

After the outside pistons were compressed, it starts to push on the inside, the tool warps and no longer keeps the plates straight, it then slips off the pads.

This tool is great! It works well, is easy to use, and works for single or dual piston-type calipers. My only complaint is that the magnet that holds the adapter for dual calipers, it isn’t very strong. So the adapter usually won’t stay by itself. But other than that, I am pleased with this tool!
