I'm an older seasoned automotive technician, I'm reviewing this product based on my many years of experience in the field using high quality tools and equipment. This scanner is primarily used for OBD2 (On Board Diagnostics 2nd generation) based vehicles (96 and newer), scanner does not work on the pre-1996 vehicles. Scanner and screen is of somewhat reasonable size, but not as large as the commercial grade scanners we use in the shop. The screen is bright, clear, and crisp. Has the typical onscreen menu based diagnostics platform. Readings on this scanner compared to our normal shop scanner showed it to be reasonably correct. Scanner has typical maintenance reset functions for items like oil changes, and other items that need reset from time to time. Scanner uses a cord, versus a wireless dongle, which is much too short to be considered user friendly. There is no battery in the unit, so you have to be hooked up to the diagnostic link or USB port to a computer. Outer scanner case is somewhat padded for semi high use conditions. Scanner does utilize a touch screen, so that is helpful. Disappointed that the kit did not come with a hard scanner storage case to keep it protected and secure while being stored. Kit comes with an instruction manual booklet, and it's written well enough for the novice or young technician just getting started in the industry. Overall not impressed with this tool, it doesn't compare with the commercial scanners we have in the shop, but I would also say it costs significantly less. My biggest complaint is the fact that there is no battery or wireless dongle. There are a lot of scanners in the same price range that have those options. I would not recommend this scanner due mainly to these important options that should be part of this scanner at the given price. Price point is considered extremely high for this item.

This is one of the best scan tools I've ever used. Yes, it is pricey... but it holds you hand in terms of the ease of use. This is superior to the cheaper plug in modules that use blue tooth and an app. I recommend this!
