    • Boss Audio Sub is definitely worth a look.
I purchased this Boss Audio Subwoofer for a custom build in my friends car. I paired it with a Boss Audio 110watt mono block amplifier. This is the 2nd 12" subwoofer from Boss Audio I've installed. Installation was quite easy and all connections on the sub as well as the amp are well placed and easy to wire up for a clean look. The subwoofer produces some nice clean low frequencies while backed up by the 1100w amp. I built a custom enclosure ported and tuned to 40htz. A slick and perfect fit in the pass through section between passenger compartment and trunk. I utilized LED Lighting above the enclosure attached to rear deck to cast light down onto the front portion of the sub when rear seat fold forward. The all black Boss sub with the chrome logo looks pretty cool under the lighting while pumping out those low notes. The media could not be loaded. (UPDATE: I've been happily using this sub for 3 years now. Still going strong! The rest of the review still applies) The sub I got [12 inch 1000w] Is an amazing value for what it is. That's one of the issues though, it's not what it claims to be. This sub is rated at 1000 watts MAX but that's not really that stat you want to focus on. The stat you want to focus on is the RMS power, which is the power that is constantly provided to the subwoofer at all times. This sub is rated at 500 watts RMS on their website, but in reality it can probably only take 150 MAX before you risk breaking the thing. This is a problem because people buy it thinking it's gonna be an actual 500w RMS BEAST of a sub when in reality it's not even close, and they supply it with 500 watts RMS and it ends up blowing up. And for that, I can only give it a 4 star review. But... It's still and incredible value, even though it's not what it claims to be. This sub (when powered at 110 watts RMS) is powerful enough to vibrate my whole car and shake the rear view mirror around like crazy. It won't rattle the mirror OFF of the car or anything like that, but come on, what more do you need? It's the PERFECT sound level. Just quiet enough so the people around your car don't get annoyed by the loudness, while still being loud enough to THUMP the inside of your car. It's great, and it sounds great too! No distortion or anything like that. Just crisp clear sound. That's not even the best part though! The best part, is that you can get a 3 year warrenty, for just 3$! If you're worried about it breaking because of how cheap it is, there's no need to worry! You can pick up this and a boss 1100w amp and get three year warranties on BOTH of them for like $80ish. This thing made me a true believer in cheap audio. I got this sub, a Boss Riot r1100M amp, an amp install kit from Install-Gear and I even built my own box with MDF wood from Lowe's and it all cost me less than $140... If you paid for bigger name brand stuff, $140 would have only gotten you the amp.... If you just want to add a nice bump to your system and don't want to spend much money. THIS IS IT. I am truly impressed. (Listen to the attached video with headphones to really hear the bass. Listening on just your phone speakers or even cheap earbuds won't do it justice) ... show more

    • Good for about half a year till the coil unglued from the speaker
It was easy to install easy to use everything was perfect sounding good until I think the coil separated and it sounded not good after that but I do tell you what it was bumping hard if I can return this one and get another for free I would I would just turn down the amperage

For $35 a sun, these can’t be beat. The biggest issue with these is everyone thinks they’re a car audio expert when they really have no clue what they’re doing. These get lower than most other woofers in the price category, however the wide surround gives up much needed cone area reducing the overall SPL of these woofers. I’m running three of these at a 1.33ohm final load in a sealed enclosure pushing around 700 watts to all three, or 233 watts each. They’re happiest here, they’ll produce a 27hz tone without exceeding Xmax limits and do so with some authority. These aren’t competition woofers, they’re cheap SVC subs that do the job quite well IF you have the slightest clue as to what you’re doing. Now, the seller was god awful. I’ve verified with fedex, they NEVER sent me my initial order of 3 subs, they only sent one. The Tracking label is still just printed. It took 3 weeks to get them to do anything about the problem and even then they were acting like they were doing me this gigantic favor. ... show more

Great for a cheap sub ive had it for 5 months. i ran 200 watts rms constantly and it thumped good with that. I bought a better amp knowing i'm gonna replace the sub anyways and it blew at 350 watts rms. But under that it had great sound especially for cheap

    • Reliable and sound great in my towers after 4 years
Super easy to wire up in my home towers as cheap replacements for the paper drivers that had failed in my Jensen 3122s. Plenty of kick and after 4 years of hard bumping on my setup, they still sound just as good as the day I installed them. Only had to drill a few extra screw holes and they fit perfectly as a result. My 3122s are 2.188 cubic feet internally and make these punch super hard at 33Hz with ease ... show more
