The Bosch GBH2-28L SDS-plus® Bulldog™ Xtreme Max 1-1/8 In. Rotary Hammer features a powerful 8.5 Amp motor and KickBack Control. This feature is an integrated sensor to stop tool rotation during bit bind-up situations. A tool that upholds the tradition in the line of legendary Bosch Bulldog hammers, the GBH2-28L combines user comfort with versatile drilling and hammering functions. It provides counter-balanced Vibration Control for more comfortable handling of the hammer. Ideal for masonry pros or general contractors, this tool weighs only 6.9 Lbs. but delivers 2.4 Ft.-Lbs. of impact energy and 0-5,100 BPM. It has a multifunction mode selector for drilling versatility – drilling only, hammer drilling and chiseling. This Bulldog has ideal features for hard-working pros, including a variable-speed reversing trigger for accurate bit starting, Vario-Lock positioning for the optimal chiseling angle, a HammerHook that allows the user to hang the tool on the job and an ergonomic D-handle for user comfort. First first SDS drill that I have owned. You will run circles around what I owned before. The other brand ruined itself somehow. This one is up to the task. It made drilling the granite rock that I needed to split much easier than my other unit. Much less buzzy more like a thumping, but totally more comfortable to use also.     • Sufficiently beastly but not heavy

I bought this to break out concrete in my driveway. It will drive a 5/8” bit through the old concrete like butter. The modern 3600- psi concrete wasn’t keen on yielding to the bit. So I loaded it with a pointed chisel bit and set the tool to hammer-plus-drill and voila, mo’ buttah. Then back to the 5/8 drill, kept that setting, and off we ran. This drill is versatile and strong. And not heavy. The instructions say to oil the ends of bits before chucking them. I’m using a couple of drops of three in one oil. No issues whatsoever, and lots of success. I priced out hiring this work. Way too expensive. This and the bits are a fraction of the price, and I’m getting exercise!!!! And I get to keep the tool. Unless I do something totally messed up, this will last me forever. (I just knocked on wood!) ... show more

It just arrived yesterday. Today I drilled eight 1/2" holes in a concrete slab in about 30 minutes. Wow. Super easy. I could have done it faster but I didn't want to risk overheating the tool and I'm still just getting used to it. The vibration wasn't bad at all (I'll see how my elbows feel tomorrow). Do wear goggles, respirator and ear covers. It chews thru the first layer and flings small concrete chips everywhere. Once it's below the surface, the concrete dust just keeps getting piled up around the bit. I'm very satisfied. It was fast and really very easy. I've been renting a $65 per day tool that I guess is much more than I needed (but but the only model the big box rental place has) since it's 3x the size but they both do the same job. I also needed to chip out a small section of concrete above the slab. Between this tool and a mallet it only took a few minutes once I figured out the technique. Sweet. If it works on concrete slab it should drill through masonry (softer) or mortar (softer) like a knife thru butter. ... show more

This made my tile removal job a breeze compared to my last adventure with an air-powered chisel. It’s very powerful, and was great for the job. It’s variable speed capability is the reason I bought it compared to the Dewalt, and I’m glad I did; it was a must-have feature for what I needed. The only concern is that the shanks that I used acquired some grease that seeped from the tool after intense use. This tool absolutely destroyed my 50 year old bathroom mortar bed on the floor and shower walls. I tried a variety of methods and found the best technique was using the small chisel tip to break a “perimeter” around the area you want to remove. Follow up with a wrecking bar to wedge chunks out. I broke through a thousand pounds of cement and the tool still operates like it was new. ... show more
