  • Robust basic machine for good value
Style: BCTM104
These comments are for the model CTM5104 treadmill. The treadmill arrived well-packaged and in good condition. The box was extra-thick cardboard, with lots of styrofoam and plywood side panel pieces for extra rigidity. The FedEx driver said she was worried about delivery due to the bulk and weight, but she knew she'd have help when she saw that a signature was required. Assembly was trivial and only required a few screws to secure the folding sections in place. The only separate pieces were the two plastic base panels. Tools are included but I used my own. I didn't measure the actual incline before testing the functionality of the unit, but after testing the speed and incline functions, I returned the incline to what the display said was zero. I then noticed that the actual incline seemed higher than zero, and the incline piston had about an inch of unused travel, with no obstructions under the unit, and space apparently available for further decline. I measured the incline geometrically using a carpenter's level and a metric tape measure to get the standard rise-over-run numbers to calculate the slope (incline). The actual incline was 6.1%. This is too much incline for a "zero" setting. To compensate, I place a 2.25-inch high block of wood under the back corners. This block must be long enough to accommodate the forward and backward motion during incline and decline. With this block, and with the incline display at zero, the actual incline was 1.1%, which is acceptable. With or without the block under the back corners, the total range of inclination measured 7.7% across the full display range of 0-15%. (As expected from the math, without the wood block, the actual inclination ranged from 6.1% to 13.8%, i.e., a 7.7% differential. With the block, it ranged from 1.1% to 8.8%.) Also, the actual inclination wasn't linear with the displayed scale, i.e., a 0 to 5% display changed the slope 3% (from 1.1% to 4.1%), 10-15% changed it 2.5%, and 10-15% changed it 2.2%. This might only be an issue if you are using two different treadmills and you want to use the exact same inclination on both. My wife and I use this treadmill for walking, for which the 20-inch wide belt and 48-inch length are perfectly adequate. I like having the convenience of speed and incline controls on the hand arms. The pulse sensor is okay but as the manual states, it's not a medical device; the reading seems to depend a bit on which part of my hand is in contact with the sensors and how tightly I grip the handle. The display is pretty nice, with large numbers for speed and elapsed time. On the lower left, it shows inclination while it's being adjusted, and then shows pulse rate continuously. The lower right shows calories and distance, alternating every 5 seconds. I wish there was a way to select distance for continuous display. The treadmill has been functioning well. We wanted a treadmill with all the basic functions, with no requirement to connect it to the Internet, and this one serves nicely. It arrived with the belt tension and position just fine, so no pre-use adjustments were needed. The unit looks nice, and seems to be very sturdy and robust. The 3 HP motor may be more than we need, but I wanted to have power to spare and not have the motor strain under any use conditions, which will probably give greater lifetime without problems. So other than the incline peculiarity, we are very pleased with this treadmill. ... show more

  • Sturdy, no-nonsense treadmill
Style: BCTM104
This treadmill has a motor that is 3/4 horsepower greater than the Proform it replaced. The weight capacity is 50 pounds greater. Set-up was easy and quick. The controls are easy and quick. There is no sales pitch to navigate through to begin your workout, just turn on the power and hit start. There are 15 preprogrammed routines. There are controls on the handles to raise or lower the speed and incline. The Bluetooth speaker is a nice feature. It is odd that at zero incline the walking deck is actually inclined. I blocked it up in the rear three inches to make it level. I made a fixture to raise the rear one and a half inches which is manageable. The buttons on the handles are a little too close to the grips where I put my hands and would accidently hit them on occasion. I put a couple zip ties in-between the rear button and the grip with the blocks up to keep my hands away. Overall, I am happy with the treadmill. It is a sturdy unit for the money. The downsides are easily rectified. ... show more

  • Easy assembly!!
Style: BCTM104
The media could not be loaded. Pro: I was sold when I read “95% assembled” in the specs! I added about 6 screws and it was done. Super convenient. Con: I don’t like how it sits on an incline. I’m sure I’d get used to it, but I would have liked to walk on a regular leveled surface. But altogether it’s a great product. Bluetooth speakers work great. Easy to lift up and move around. A place to put my tablet and water bottle. Able to control incline and speed from the handles. Also able to check heart rate on the handles as well. I am Attaching a video. ... show more

  • Worth it
Style: BCTM104
This is a great treadmill at a great price. I bought this on black Friday 2023. I read previous reviews saying that it was too good for it's price. I agree. The assembly was very easy and quick. Two of us put it together easily. It is better with two people for assembly because it is a bit heavy. I like the two water bottle holders. Easy for me to watch my workout videos ( I use this treadmill with the peleton app) on my phone in one cup holder and have my water bottle in the other. The incline transition is smooth. Treadmill is a great size and comfortable. This is a sturdy treadmill. ... show more

  • Okay for the price but…
Style: BCTM104
The media could not be loaded. Overall, if you’re looking for a quick run or daily 30-minute walk to keep your health in check, this treadmill will do it. It was pretty easy to assemble considering most of the parts came assembled, and it is fairly easy to move/roll around (wheels on the front part). It also folds up to save space. The incline goes up to 15, which is great, but also, note that the treadmill at default seems to already be on a slight incline. This might be a plus or minus for the individual’s preferences. There were three “cons” for me though, which prompted me to write a review after using this for about 4-5 months: 1. There is no bar in the front as you may have seen on some other treadmills at the gym. With that said, if you’re like me who likes to go on higher inclines, there’s nothing to hang onto except for the side bars, but I suggest you don’t push too hard on it since they don’t seem too durable—made of light plastic maybe? 2. There was a typo (“fro was spelled “form”) under the “Caution” notice, but I know I’m just super OCD and crazy like that xP I can’t help notice this… 3. The worst part about this treadmill is the space between the bars…. It could be just me and the way I walk/run swaying my arms or hands too much, but I’ve bumped or rammed my hand onto the ends of the bars almost breaking my fingers and often got black-and-blues from it (smh)… it just feels a bit “tight”… but of course, this treadmill is fairly compact for smaller spaces, so I understand, but just wanted to let people be aware…. ouch for my fingers as I’m writing this as I’ve done it again today….. Overall though, it’s worth the purchase if you’re looking for light workouts on this machine, and you’re looking to save space in your home. ... show more
