These chairs did not disappoint. And it takes a lot for any product to get a 5 star rating from me. These chairs are sturdy, stable, very comfortable, and elegant. It takes a few minutes to assemble them, but it's worth the time. The allen wrench is included, and that's all that's needed to assemble them. Instructions are very straightforward. If you want to give these a rustic or western look, buy some antiqued furniture tacks and nail them in along the edge below the seat cushion. Or bright brass tacks if you want a more modern look. Again, these are really good bar stools for the money!

I am blown away by this chair. First, assembly was insanely easy. There are literally 8 pieces and just 3 sizes of bolts. It comes with a small hex key tool and that is all that is needed for the entire assembly. The first chair took about 30 minutes to unpack and assemble. The second chair was about 15 or 20 minutes. Very intuitive construction and simple instructions to follow. I am really impressed with the obvious thought that they put into the construction of this item. They designed a beautiful chair and made it easy for the consumer to assemble. Brilliant! One thing that is really nice is that the holes are not just drilled into the wood. There are metal threads in every hole, which makes lining up the holes and inserting the bolts very easy to do. The legs are also notched and very easy to align. The wood is not light and cheap feeling at all. It has some heft to it and is very sturdy. After assembling, there was no wobble. It was extremely sturdy. The swivel action is smooth. The vinyl on the seat and the back are also very nice. I was really surprised at how nice these chairs are for the price. I expected something much less substantial with marginal quality. That is not the case at all. There are no obnoxious odors like some furniture has from glues or stains. The bottom of the legs have plastic feet to protect surfaces, but they are made of hard plastic. I might replace those with something softer. I chose the cappuccino color. It is actually similar to a dark walnut brown. I selected these chairs as a suggestion with the Boraam pub table to match. They are perfect together. This is part of a gift for my husband for our anniversary and I am confident that he will really like it. It is a very nice chair and just what you might expect to see in a nice pub.

These are perfect for my kitchen. They are well made and didn't take that long to assemble. I purchased three of them and the builds wen well, but the second one I put together had a screw that went thru the outside of one of the stool supports which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

This stool is excellent quality and is a GREAT value. I am a finicky customer who has been a product guy for most of his career, so I don't say this lightly. I am so impressed that I am writing a detailed review for those that want the details. To be precise, I would give this product 4-1/2 stars if it were possible, but I am rounding up to 5 rather than down to 4. Packaging- as others have noted, the packaging is exemplary. and explains why each piece arrived in perfect condition. It takes 15 minutes to completely unpack everything and lay it out for assembly. It's worth every minute! Others have complained that they couldn't find the hardware. My boxes arrived with a red plastic tag on the outside of the box labeled "hardware" and when you open the box you realize that tag is connected to the hardware package. Clearly, they listened to the feedback and made it painfully obvious where the hardware is. Wood and Finish- While the description calls this "cherry" finish I would describe it as a medium mahogany color. The wood itself appears to be some kind of Asian mahogany such as luan (Phillipino mahogany). The color goes very well with my medium cherry cabinets and Brazilian cherry floor. I am a woodworker and am very impressed with the finish. It is a satin finish, and examining all of the pieces of three stools, it is damn near perfect in any area that shows. Construction- all of the pieces fit together very well. Every bolt engages with a metal threaded insert. You will not be driving any wood screws. All of the bolts are Allen screws so you can crank them good and tight. The foot rest is sturdy, not a flimsy piece of wood. Just the same, I wouldn't stand on it. As I was assembling the first one, I noticed that the swivel was a bit stiff. Rest assured that once assembled and with your weight on it, the stool swivels readily. I'm going to guess that they made it a little tight so kids wouldn't spin on it Probably some do-gooder in Washington mandated that so kids couldn't have fun. ;-) Assembly- the instructions are sufficient but not elaborate. And I might add, they are only helpful if you look them over before beginning assembly. Naturally, I did not do that before assembling my first stool. The most important lesson learned from that is that it really does matter that you assemble these in the order of the steps outlined. The assembly steps are, 1) attach the four legs to the foot rest, 2) attach the "apron" (ring below the seat), (note that the instructions present the preceding two steps as one step), 3) attach back to seat, 4) attach assembled seat to swivel mount. The bolts are very clearly labeled as are the washers, and an Allen wrench is included. Here are a few notes and tips: 1. All bolts are installed with flat washers. All bolts also use lock washers EXCEPT for the final four that attach the seat to the swivel. 2. If you don't follow the recommended order, you will find it very awkward to get at some of the bolts. 3. First assemble the legs and two rings FINGER TIGHT. A very common mistake is to snug each bolt as you install it and then complain that things don't line up. Once the legs and the rings are loosely assembled, set the unit on a flat surface (I used my granite kitchen island) and then tighten. I recommend you tighten the seat ring first, and then foot rest. 4. The Allen wrench has a ball tip on one end- this is a great feature for turning the bolt head from an angle when necessary, until the final half turn of tightening. 5. I put an old towel down on my counter so nothing would get scratched. 6. The bolts and washers are oily when they come out of the package. I would have a rag handy to wipe them off while you assemble. 7. I found it helpful to use my metric Allen wrench set (shown as it provides a great handle and also can be bent 90 degrees. 8. The bottom of the seat back where it attaches to the seat is a slightly wider arc than the seat base. You might be concerned about a gap when you first line them up. Start all six bolts, and then snug up the center first before the outside bolts. As you tighten you will see it pull the center of the seat back closer to the seat bottom until it is flush. Then tighten the outside bolts. The assembled unit is very attractive and looks like it could have cost double or more. The seat cushion itself is on the firm side. I have very little padding on my back side (!) so I would have preferred a bit more padding on the seat. The seat back is VERY comfortable. Although these are proper counter height, I would have preferred if they were an inch or two taller. I measured the under-counter clearance and it is pretty much as it should be. But I'm on the shorter side, so I would have preferred sitting slightly higher. Bar height stools would have been too tall. To sum up, if you like the look of these, go for it. I am deeply impressed with the quality and the value they represent. If anything changes, I'll come back and update this review. Here are a few pictures to give you a better idea.

I ordered these stools after searching locally and online for a reasonably priced bar stool that asthetically looked great along with reasonable quality for the price. I made the decision to buy six of these stools but was cautiously optimistic after reading the reviews regarding damaged stools, color variability and lack of appropriate hardware etc... So I took a few steps after receiving and during the assembly to ensure everything met my expectations. First, there is a date of manufacture on each box. Even though I received three separate shipments, each one was manufactured in December 2014. Next I carefully unpacked and checked to ensure color was a match. Next I carefully inspected each piece for damage looking for cracks or broken pieces. Do this without destroying the packaging just in case it needs to go back in th box. Happy to report not one piece was damaged and the appropriate hardware was included. After unpacking, I staged an area for two stools at a time. I then took each bolt and placed the locking nut and washer as described in the instructions ( which were perfectly clear enough to understand). Do this in advance so that you are not scambling around looking for the right bolt, nut and washer. Being that some people complained about bolts coming loose over time, I chose to purchase a couple of tubes of LOCK-TIGHT and added a small amount to each bolt prior to using. I highly suggest when assembling the legs to foot ring and seating base, DO NOT TIGHTEN! Leave them a little less than finger tight until all 16 bolts are in place. Stool should feel very woobly at this point. This helps with alignment issues that many of you may have had getting bolts into the holes. Next, put the base on a smooth level surface and then tighten. This is critical because if you tighten while on carpet or uneven surface, it will tighten in an out of level position and the stool will wobble. You need to make sure to move quickly during this step as the LOCK Tight will start to set up quickly so you should try to have this completed in 15-20 min and do not stop until you complete this step. Another reason to have all of the bolts ready to go. Once this is completed, attached the stool back to the seat following the guidelines above. Use Lock-Tight on each bolt, and again, do not tighten until each bolt is in place and of course DONOT OVER TIGHTEN! Once this is complete, attach the base to the seat using the four bolts provided. Again, use the LockTight on each bolt. This is the only tricky part of the assembly. The four bolt holes only line up in one way so make sure that the stool is positioned so that each bolt hole is aligned before you start putting the bolts in places. Additionally, you have to rotate the stool so that you can screw the bolt in easily. That means, you will have to rotate the stool around as there seems to be only one position where you can get easy access to installing the bolt and being able to tighten. I have to admit, this was a little frustrating but not impossible or that hard. I just had to figure this out on my own so hopefully this will help the rest of you out. Overall, I am very happy with the stools. I gave them FIVE STARS for price value and for the simple fact that I did not have one issue They look awesome and feel very solid/sturdy without any significant wobble etc... You can't beat the $80 price for each stool (when you order the two pack). If you are wanting a true $500 stool, this will probably not meet your expectation but for the price, you can't beat it! I hope this was helpful and I will update once we get some wear and tear on them in a few months. Good Luck!

I read the good & bad reviews and C.H. O’Briens review had it right as a woodworker. I’m a mechanic and capable also. I realize after most of you read this, you may just order them from a real furn. store and avoid this explanation as follows, but for those like me who like to save some cash and don’t mind a little work for a BETTER outcome then some of you have experienced, then you can’t go wrong with their value, IMO. I Put together two and followed Obriens advice which was spot on. Each chair was well packaged and so fresh that the wood finish was still strong (odor) but not so bad that you cleared the room. First I lubed the swivel bearings with (drops of heavy oil-see pics) as one was not fully seated in its frame, but not bad enough to hurt this assembly. They were very stiff as they are a press fit assembly (not a critical tolerance part like a wheel bearing) and extra lube helped them a lot. Then I removed all the wood screws (one at a time and replaced) using few drops of gorilla glue on them as a locktite. You can also use slow dry ethyl cyanoacrylate (crazy glue types) if you prefer but you have to move much faster which leads to mistakes which is a poor outcome, IMO. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN ANY of THE FASTENERS, especially the four seat pad wood screws. If you strip out the seat pad holes, then you turn the pad approximately 1” and restart the screws in a fresh spot, and add glue. (A couple were stripped from the factory assembly but problem solved)! This is key to a good outcome and why locking the screws now and letting the chairs sit for 24 hours letting the Locktite cure before use will make for a better seat assy. In long term use, IMO. After checking that all the machine screws would turn freely in the metal inserts by finger in every hole, I then started assembly of the legs and rings but leave them very loose till the seat is on. Put the seat back on the seat pad (as it rests on a table or another stool) useing locktite on the threads and tighten. Leave the seat pad/back upside down and place the legs/bearing assy. on to the seat bottom and lock tight the four machine screws here also. (Legs are still loose). Now turn the whole chair assy. over on a level table/counter and put two drops of Locktite on each leg machine screw thread one at a time (where the threads begin) leaving it one turn out from loose. Now tighten each screw snug and go to the next one. After all snug, repeat tight, and repeat one more time around. This helps keep the legs from having an unbalanced teetering effect when on the floor afterwards. I know, sounds like a headache in explanation, but the physical application is really straight forward. Good luck with yours. RH-Tx.

These stools were nicely packed and easy enough to assemble that I did one while my 12-year-old did the other. The cappuccino wood color is very attractive and the stain is nicely even. The stools are on the whole very attractive and even got a "wow" from my cynical wife when she first saw them. They are not the most comfortable things ever, as the cushions feel more almost inflated than stuffed, and the overall impression I have of them is that they are a bit hard and not all that cushiony, but they are comfortable enough, and the 24" height works perfectly with my homemade counter-height bar. The swivel function is good, and the chairs are very stable and don't rock or anything that would cause concern. I can't comment on the durability yet, as I've only just received and assembled them as I write this review. The one big complaint I have is that of the two chairs I ordered (and I ordered them separately as, inexplicably, that was cheaper than buying the package set of two), one arrived missing two washers and two of the retaining nuts that should be buried in the wood of the seat back, allowing you to bolt the back to the seat. There are six holes for that, and on one chair, all six had the embedded nuts but one chair only had four of the six. The other two -- both unfortunately on the right side of the back as you look at the side with the holes -- were simply holes in the wood. No nuts to receive the bolts. Since they were both on one side rather than spread between the sides and/or the middle, this represented a serious structural issue since leaning back on the backrest could cause the right side to push away from the seat, likely undermining the other bolts in the center and left of the seat back. Rather than digging out the other embedded nuts and redistributing them, which would have been a chore and probably damaged the chair, I just filled the holes with wood glue, assembled the seat and put the bolts through into the glue and clamped it overnight, wiping off the excess glue. It seems fine now, but seriously, I should not have had to do that. I don't have the patience to contact the company and/or repackage and return ship the item when a workaround was at hand, so I don't know how responsive they are or are not, but again, it shouldn't matter. They should be selling chairs with all the parts, especially the parts embedded into the wood itself. In summary, I'm not sorry I bought them (yet... let's see how they hold up). They look great and are comfortable enough at least for the short time we've spent sitting on them so far; but it was frustrating to have an incomplete chair that required a workaround to assemble.
