  • Basic Coffee Maker, China Based Company
COMPANY They claim the company is based in GA, and the name sounds like it could be an American company, so I ordered this coffee maker. Afterwards, I went to their website to find out more about the company, and came across some bad English; Errors a local webmaster would never make. I also noticed the address in China. The address in GA comes back to American Customer Service. They provide customer service and logistics to other companies. I don't mind ordering Chinese products, as long as it's safe, and the quality is good. There's an ETL logo on the bottom of the product, so it passes US safety standards. I'm not too keen on companies trying to pass themselves off as American, though. This is a Chinese company, and the product is made in Vietnam. Also, if you need customer support, just be aware that you are dealing with a third party service provider. POWER CORD The power cord is only 30 inches long, so you may need to order a short extension cord. The unit draws around 10 amps. That's a little over 1000 watts. BREWING SPEED They claim 3 minutes, and I can confirm that. I made an 8 oz cup of joe and it took a little over 2 minutes. Liquid was dripping out of the spout slowly after 2 minutes. At 2 minutes 30 seconds, the pump turned off, and it was done. TEMP The temperature of the brew was 164 degrees. That's not very hot, but it's good enough for me. BUILD QUALITY The body is all plastic. It feels just like all the other coffee makers made of ABS. It doesn't feel flimsy or anything. The whole unit isn't very heavy, so there's not a lot of metal components inside the unit. I've had other brand name coffee makers with a similar build quality and weight. BREW This coffee maker only has a single needle for brewing. Some have 5 needles to extract more flavor, but they're expensive. The coffee tastes good, especially when mixed with some Chobani cream. I have no complaints about the taste. VERDICT The quality of this coffee maker is good for the price. It's from a Chinese company and it's made in Vietnam. They only thing I really don't like is the short power cord. I'll need to find a short extension cord or surge suppressor. As for brew quality, it's average. There's nothing wrong with how it brews, but it only has one needle, if that's important to you. As for value, it's quite good. It doesn't seem like they cut too many corners. It's affordable, because there are no bells and whistles, and the design is very basic. However, if you can find a brand name on sale for nearly the same price, I'd go for the known quantity. They have a name to uphold, and they also have their own customer service dept. ... show more

  • Small Footprint, Smart Details, Honest Performance -- Read the Warranty Fine Print
THE OVERVIEW: A well-made compact single-serve K-cup brewer that does exactly what it sets out to do. It takes any standard K-cup, you set your own water level, you press one button. Coffee arrives in a couple of minutes. There is no oversized reservoir, no menu, no learning curve -- and in a market full of bulky machines that colonize your counter, that restraint is the point. THE DESIGN DETAILS THAT WORK: 1) The water fill opening on the back is nice and wide. No funnel required, no careful aim, no water running down the back of the machine 2) The reservoir markings are large and clearly printed at 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 ounces. You know exactly how much coffee you are going to get before you start, which is more than a lot of brewers give you 3) The reservoir pops out entirely. That handles spills and, more importantly, gives you direct access to clean the heating element underneath -- an area that is a nightmare to reach on most compact brewers 4) Simple status indication: red light while brewing, blue when it is done 5) It brews fast and quietly. If you are filling a big insulated travel mug, it is quick enough that just running a second cycle to top off is no imposition 6) The ABS exterior is smooth and looks good -- it reads as a finished product, not a budget appliance THE MANUAL: I always appreciate a manual that was actually written rather than machine-translated, and this one is well structured and clear. It also lists the unit at 1050 watts, which is genuinely useful information if you are running this in an RV, a camper, or anywhere you have to budget your electrical load. That figure is not in the listing. THE FOOTPRINT: Compact enough for a bedroom, a small office, a dorm, or an RV. It is only marginally taller than a standard electric tea kettle, and the removable drip tray clears travel mugs up to 6.6 inches. WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOU BUY: The listing specifies a 180 degree brew temperature. That is hot coffee, but it is below the 195 to 205 degree range generally considered ideal for full extraction. If you are particular about extraction, factor that in. For everyday coffee it is not an issue. THE WARRANTY -- READ IT: There is a one year warranty, but it covers material and manufacturing defects only. It explicitly excludes transport damage, wear parts, and fragile components including buttons and sealing gaskets. On a machine of this size, that carve-out covers a meaningful share of the parts most likely to fail. The warranty is real, but it is narrower than "one year" suggests, and you should know that going in. BOTTOM LINE: A solid, thoughtfully designed compact brewer -- clear fill markings, a genuinely cleanable reservoir, quick quiet operation, and a real manual. Good value for tight spaces, as long as you go in with clear eyes about what the warranty actually covers. ... show more

  • Single serve coffee maker
I decided to try a different single serve coffee maker since I have had my keurig one for many years, and its time or a new one. I have always read good things from the Bosenkitchen company so i looked through there coffee makers, and decided to get this one. For the most part, I really like this coffee maker. It is super easy to use, and I love that I can choose from different cup size amounts, ranging from 6oz to 14oz, With its fast brewing feature, I can have my coffee ready in about the same time as my old keurig. It fits nicely on my countertop without taking up too much space, and it can actually fit my travel mug. I had to give 4 stars, because it only allows enough water in the water tank for only one cup and then you have to fill it again for the next cup, when having abigger tank to hold multiple cups of water would be niceto have so you did not have to fill it with water every time you make a cup. Other than that this coffee maker overall is a good replacement for my old one, and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a simple and effective coffee maker ... show more

  • very convenient and versatile
I purchased this coffee maker to keep at work since I already have a larger, name-brand machine at home. I've been using it for about three weeks now, and it has been a great addition to my desk. One of the first things I noticed was how quickly it heats up, which is perfect when I need a cup of coffee before getting back to work. It has worked well with all of my regular K-cups, so I didn't have to buy any special pods or accessories. Another feature I really appreciate is how easy it is to refill the water reservoir and keep it clean. I descale it about every couple of weeks, and the process is simple and straightforward. I also like that I can choose from different brew sizes, anywhere from a small 6-ounce cup up to about a 14-ounce serving, depending on how much coffee I want. My favorite size as far as coffee sterngth has been the 10 oz version, but yours may be different. It even has enough clearance to fit my travel mug, which has been incredibly convenient when I am in a rush at work. I often work away from my desk so being able to brew directly into a travel mug allows me to take my freshly-brewed coffee with me to another part of the building. The black color makes this Bonsekitchen single serve coffee maker blend in nicely with my work space as I have no choice but to keep it on my desk, we have no lunch room at work. I have foudnd it compatible with several types of k-cups I normally use with no leaks or other issues. The compact size is one of my favorite things about this machine because I have to keep it right on my desk at work. It takes up very little space compared to the larger K-cup machine I use at home, yet it still delivers a great cup of coffee every time. It has been reliable, easy to use, and surprisingly versatile for such a small machine. The best part of it is that the price, in my opinion, as it allows me to have a single-serve coffee maker at work as well. That extra fresh cup or two of coffee has made a big difference in maintaining my energy during work. ... show more

  • Water temp not hot enough
This device is comparable in quality to other single-serve Keurig coffee makers sold at big-box stores, but the build quality feels a little better than average. User’s manual is excellent. Based on the label, it appears the ETL mark has been tested to US and Canadian safety standards. * The ETL logo format is correct. * The control number (5014603) is present. * Specific UL and CSA standards are referenced. Here are some real world benchmarked numbers: * It took 3:23 from start to finish (water started dripping at 2:50) * Water temp started at 77F and the discharged temp was at 174F (measured immediately) and once complete, the final blended temp was at 167F * Max power draw was at 1012W * There isn’t enough clearance to fit a 20-ounce Yeti tumbler underneath the dispenser, even with the tray removed Overall, it is a decent single cup Kurig machine thats’s quick and easy. However, the water temp is about 20F below the ideal brew temperature so this machine will under extract coffee flavor making it a bit sour and flat ... show more
