So far I like it quite well. I have shredded almost to buckets full and have not experienced any jams or overheat. I also have not stuffed the full 6 sheets through as I assume that would make it want to overheat. Even at 3 thick you can hear the difference in shredding while the motor has to work harder. It still shreds it just fine, however it's slower. I just put in one or two at a time and with the ability to continuously run it gets things done pretty quickly one after another. I mostly liked that the pieces are really small compared to the long strips you get with the other kinds. I would recommend this item if you want small shreds. It appears to be well built and heavy duty so we will see if it holds up in the long run. Also it would have been nice to have a locking lid then you could carry it by the handle instead of the bucket but if you have a certain spot to just leave it where it will not get knocked over then it won't matter much. ... show more

I have had numerous shredders through the years and I really like this one. For me and just household mail this is perfect. The paper input slot seems a bit more narrow than most, but would only be a problem maybe if a jam happens. I’ve helped family members with larger shred jobs and it is still working. I always play it safe with shredders and rarely put the max number of pages it says through at one time. This helps reduce jams and extends the life of a shredder in general. I especially love the 1” cross cut. We also use the shredded paper for bedding in pet cages so it has actually paid for itself. lol ... show more

I had an old Fellows W11C which has worked fabulously for 10 years. I tried to shred an expired Amazon visa card by Chase which is thicker and less pliable than normal (Those who have this card should know this) and it jammed and broke part of the engaging mechanism in the middle of the shredder. I was able to pull it out using a plier and the shredder still works, but with special orientation pushing the paper toward the front so as to engage the remnant of the engaging mechanism. I decided to throw it and did not want to spend a lot on a replacement. I did not have high expectations of this Bonsaii (8 sheets Cross shredder for about $30). In that sense, I am not disappointed. The basket of 4.2 gal. is smaller than what I had and is thin plastic. The whole unit is lighter and overall, feels cheap and not sturdy. It is just like most shredders in terms of noise and it is not quiet. It has 4 settings (On Auto, Fwd, Rev and Off). It doesn't always pick the paper fast enough and seems slower to feed. The manual is not in the best English and has absurdities. It states it takes one credit card at a time. It also states maximum daily use is for 25 sheets and 2 credit cards and not advised for adhesive or large clips. For maintenance, it recommends shredder sheets and not oil, which makes no sense. I have not tried regular staples and do not plan on using paper clips, or CD's. I do not think it is a heavy duty shredder and would not recommend for a regular office or heavy use. It seems to work fine otherwise for light to medium house use. I plan to use shredder oil for lubrication and will update if needed. Hopefully, it will last for few years. Thank you. PS: A word of advice for those who have the Amazon Chase Visa card: When you receive the new card, send it back in the included return envelope and do not try to shred it at home, unless you have a Godzilla monster industrial shredder. ... show more

This shredder is the bomb! There is no way someone can try and put these pieces of cross cut documents together to get your information. Prior to getting this type, my old one just didn't safely shred my documents. I really like this product! You did it again Amazon! Thank you 😊

I have used it for at least 5-6 times so far and it is working great. When I inserted more than 3 papers then shredding is slowed and sounds like it is working hard. It’s compact and suitable for home use.
