Now that I've got them set up, these switches do exactly what I want. I have 3 devices I want switched on or off at the wall, and I always want to turn them all on or off at once. Both the BN-Link app and Alexa let me do exactly that, turn them all on or off from my phone with a single tap. I had a few minor issues connecting them initially. I couldn't detect any of them with Bluetooth, so I had to select them manually. The BN-Link app thought I had to switch my phone from my 5 Ghz network to my 2.4 Ghz network, but that wasn't actually necessary. Both are internally part of the same network, so it didn't matter that the switches were connecting via 2.4 Ghz. Alexa integration was super easy, but I ended up using the BN-Link app anyway. I'd use Alexa if I wanted to use voice control, but I really wanted control from my phone, and the BN-Link app is friendlier for that. One of my 4 switches was defective, and wouldn't turn on. After some back and forth, BN-Link replaced it for free. No need to return all 4 just because one was bad. It took about a week to get a replacement, and the replacement works fine. ... show more

I purchased these to add smart control to my Christmas lights in the house after I was tired of manually plugging and unplugging the lights every day. The included directions are a bit tricky to understand at first, but setup was a breeze once I was smart enough to figure it out. Integration into my Google Assistant and Google home was super simple and worked perfectly. The app has a lot of programming features, most of which I didn't use, but the basic timer function was perfect. I tried to play with some of the other settings, and they didn't quite work the way i intended (could be user error) but again, basic needs were met. Every year I have to coordinate the timing on several different holiday interior displays. These smart plugs make that a simple matter. Here's the steps I had to take: 1) Download BN-LINK Smart app on my phone. 2) Create an account. 3) Add plug - it was detected easily with BLE and then connected to my WiFi network. 4) Open Alexa app on phone and it detected the plug and added the correct skill to allow voice control. 5) Add plug to "Holiday Lights" group and set up a routine to turn that group on and off at scheduled times. I was really worried about steps 4 and 5 because personal experience has shown that the Alexa integration is not always easy. However, things have progressed to the point where the BN-LINK Smart app and Alexa walk you through everything to quickly get these smart plugs up and running. Now we have everything turn on and off based on a schedule while still allowing for customized voice control - the best of both worlds. I can't think of any reason to not recommend these plugs. If you don't have Alexa there's no problem because the BN-LINK Smart app allows you to set up a schedule for each plug right in the app. Two thumbs up for how easy this whole thing was. ... show more

Tired to program these Smart Plugs and never got them to connect. Tried all of them and they would not connect. Now I had two other sets of Smart Plugs and they programed using my iPad, no problem, but these no way. Just before I was about to return them to Amazon I reread the instruction for the 5th time and finally noticed they always referred to a "iPhone" so i downloaded the app on my phone and Bingo, they programed. No where does it say not to use you iPad, just always referred to the iPhone. What a pain the a**. ... show more

The phone app would not sync upon first try. An experienced IT person tried several times with different interrogating software. Finally I removed then reloaded the app. After that it was easy. I also built a scheme to turn on then off a switch on the app. It was not intuitive for me to build the scheme and it still does not work like I want. ... show more

Works gr8 after long trial & error. Took a half hr of trial & error getting it 2 connect. Printed Instructions are terrible & app doesn't help either (missing a step or 2)! After I got it 2 connect it worked gr8! Def better than old-fashioned manual crank timers that I was used 2, & more versatile.

I have the Xfinity 5GHz modem/router. Typically if it is a 2.4GHz required connection I can't get it going. I had trouble getting this plug connected but I also have other BN-Link plugs that I am using (purchased back when I had my Netgear 2.4/5 GHz router) and they work just fine so I naturally thought these would work as well. Okay, I tried and tried to get a connection and finally initiated a return. I thought I would give it one more try and for some odd reason it connected. I don't get it. Bottom line: These do work on the Xfinity 5GHz Modem/Router. Please don't ask me how I got it connected, because I couldn't tell ya. I am happy with the BN-Link plugs however. ... show more

The written instructions are straight junk and make things way more complicated than need be. Just go straight to downloading the app and it's very straightforward and easy.
