  • Good for Smores
Good heat source and s'mores maker

  • Could only connect on 2.4 channel
They work just fine but I wish they could connect on the 5 ghz channel. We end up spending a while trying to connect before realizing the wifi connection on our phone is 5ghz

  • Must have a 2.4Ghz network, which most routers still offer. Rock solid performance.
These outlets were replacing another pair that just refused to work, from a different maker, and the difference is night and day. These are great! I had them up and running within maybe 5 minutes using the Tuya Smart app, I would expect similar using the vendor supplied app, though I didn't test that as I'm already invested in the Tuya ecosystem and don't see a need for multiple apps if the device works with Tuya, which it absolutely does! I have one of these outlets controlling some overhead lighting on both sides of the room. I named that unit "Overhead", then named the two outlets "Overhead Left" and "Overhead Right". I can now call on Google (or Alexa or Siri, if preferred) to "turn on Overhead" to turn all of the lights on, or can call out either Overhear Left of Overhead Right to control just one of the lights. This would work with any devices plugged into these outlets. Also, these appear to track power usage, as well. I'm not sure how accurate that is, as it's not a feature I was interested in, just something these appear to do. From what I see, the feature works, and seems to reflect the expected load on the circuit. If that's a feature that interests you, these appear to work well, also. ... show more

  • Worth it for the Smart Life Integration. Perfect for greenhouse!
I purchased this b/c it works with the Smart Life app. The device itself is very easy to setup. It also has 2 plugs, which is a nice feature. With the Smart Life app, I can tell it to turn the greenhouse lights on if the weather report is overcast - pretty cool. Lots of capabilities.

  • Better than expected
So these were pretty expensive for what they do. They’ve been a lot of fun because we have been able to remotely turn lights on and off but… A couple times one side of the door outlet doesn’t work and we can’t tell why and then a day or two later does again. So we’re giving it a lot of stars because it was so inexpensive for the control and security it provides and also because we thought we were only getting two outlets but it turned out there were two each in the box which meant that we could also give our family a couple of these. Note: We follow the directions to the T for putting it on Wi-Fi and in a couple of it worked the first time no problem and the others it took mysteriously a couple of times so not sure what we were doing right or wrong but all of them eventually connected. We did not use any Alexa integration we just put them on Wi-Fi and downloaded the smart life app. ... show more

  • Toggles relays unintentionally and unexpectedly, but power monitoring makes up for it. Easy setup.
Loves to just randomly decide to click the devices off then back on. Absolutely not OK for things that ... well, that would prefer not to be unexpectedly rebooted. As another person has mentioned, these seem to use latching relays, which are awesome, but the device really should remember if it was last turned on or off so it doesn't need to cycle when it reboots (the plug, that is). The killer feature of these things is the power monitoring - ability to show volts/amps/watts in real time. That's what I needed it for, as I plan on automating a bidirectional grid battery using these plugs as the automation infrastructure. I can see their current status from anywhere, then. Very nice and good price! Update: It turns out that power monitoring is dramatically incorrect, at least on my units (2-pack, dual outlets each). Actual wattage (Kill-A-Watt) might be 600 watts, but app reports 400 - and the discrepancy scales linearly (40w app = 60w actual). That's a huge mistake. But, it makes up for it in that (1) the app is very powerful and generally bug-free, (2) schedules execute properly and on-time, (3) the units are never offline, and (4) they're reliable and don't click-off unintentionally (as above). I automate my home battery charging/discharging using these switches on schedules, and it's been reliable enough to chop my power bill in half (by shifting whole home load to off-peak power) and that's awesome. It just doesn't monitor/log correctly, but I'm OK with that. ... show more

  • Works with Tuya Smart, but had to use older AP pairing mode.
auto pairing wouldn't work, nor the fast blink paring. only slow blink access mode paring worked. you have to find and connect your phone to the switch's access point. It's only 10 amps.. but measures current so it says. good price for a dual outlet for lower current devices.
