  • Has kept up with the Florida heat very well.
This temperature controlled switch has worked all summer in the summer heat of Florida. I found it is accurate and turns on and off as it should. It is very easy to program as well. I am optimistic that it will last a long time. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because I got a bad one that stopped functioning after the 1st week. Amazon promptly replaced it and this one has been great ever since, about 2 months now. I count that first one as a fluke, I hope I'm right. ... show more

  • Great Device For Temperature Control
I needed a device that would control the temperature in my building that I was going to use a fan in. I didn't want the fan to run all the time, just when it got to a certain temperature. I had an automatic thermostat, but I was going to have to wire it into the fan. With this all I had to do is plug it into an outlet an then plug the fan into it. Everything was finished. You can mount it to the wall. It lights up with the temperature. Easy to setup. ... show more

  • Works Well
I'm using this in my insulated metal garage to power an attic fan during the summer months. This thermostat has done well over the course of an entire, and might I add HOT summer, here in NC. It seems like the thermostat has a tolerance of +-1.5° before it shuts on/off, which for me is fine.

  • Works as designed.
Not sure why I didn't find one of these years ago. But it does exactly what I have been needing to do for years. Prior would just put the swamp cooler on a timer and try to figure out the different times of the day where it would by hot and cold. But if you weren't home for the day and a cool front came through the house would be freezing. Now depending on where you want to set it, it will shut off and keep the cooler going at the temp you want and or at least try to keep it there. Great purchase and wish I would have gotten 20 years ago. ... show more

  • Good fan control.
This was used to control a fan to vent an equipment room containing a boiler and an on-demand hot water system. Itbvis used to bring temperatures from 100 degrees to a set level of 70 degrees quite well.

  • CANNOT BE USED TO CONTROL A/C UNLESS MODIFIED/SOLDERED
Works okay. Has a 3°F "buffer zone", meaning, once the set temperature is reached, the temperature must rise 3°F before it kicks back on. The temp probe is relatively accurate and takes live readings. If you touch the probe with your finger, the temp display will climb to reflect the increase temperature, instantly. Would work great for a fan but it is NOT intended for an A/C. If you do not know how to solder, DO NOT purchase this for an A/C or anything with a compressor pump. I didn't read where it says not to use for an A/C, so I purchased this to control an A/C, I thought this would work beings the A/C fell under the acceptable specs (wattage/amperage) on this product. It did work for approximately 2 weeks before the internal 10A fuse, blew. Rendering it useless. I know most people can't solder and remove the built-in fuse, so once the fuse is blown, it's blown and garbage. If you can solder, then it's worth it. I removed the blown 10A fuse & replaced it with a socket so I can swap fuses whenever they blow (I also increased the fuse to a 15A and it hasn't blown since). I feel the manufacturers could have/should have placed either a breaker button on the unit, or made the unit with a replaceable fuse. So I deducted 1 star for that. AFTER the modifications, it works great for a 1,000 Watt 8A A/C. So like I said, if you can solder or if you need this to control a heating pad/light, fan, or anything else that doesn't have a compressor pump, it's DEFINITELY worth it. ... show more

  • Pretty good
So far this device has worked pretty well. I only have two issues. Number 1: The device that I am regulating does not plug in too good. It's easy to pull out and doesn't plug all the way in. I have applied quite a bit of force but it has not fit. With that being said, it still regulates the device fine, I just have to take care with it. Number 2: Every time my device gets turned on and off, a very loud clicking noise is made. This gets very annoying as I have this in my room. It often will startle me in the middle of the night, snapping me out of my sleep. ... show more
