Description

Stage 1: Standard Size 2.5”x 10” Sediment Filter. Filters sediment particles such as silt, sand, rust, dirt, and other undissolved particles. Stage 2: Standard Size 2.5”x 10” Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC). Adsorbs and removes bad taste and odors. Also a large variety of organic contaminants such as chlorine and chemicals linked to cancer, herbicides, insecticides, Trihalomethanes, Benzene, and many volatile organic compounds such as VOC's, PCB's, MTBE's along with hundreds of other chemicals and contaminants that may be present in our water. Stage 3: Standard Size 2.5”x 10” Carbon Block Filter. Removes chlorine, bad taste and odor, organic solvents, and organic chemicals that contribute to bad taste and odor. Stage 4: Reverse Osmosis Membrane. Removes and filters particles as small as 1/10,000 of a micron and most inorganic chemicals (such as salts, metals, minerals). I don't really care for bottled water as most of it is bottled city water. My home city supplied water has a small chlorine taste unless I run it through my refridgerator filtered dispenser in the door. I intalled this unit and added the water tap to my kitchen sink.     • Great unit, easy to change filters and good tasting water.
Good customer service, affordable kit. Almost everything was great. biggest issue i have is the cheesy fittings that come with to connect to your cold water supply. The couplings provided are 3/8 and 1/2 FIP which doesnt make sense as most valves have compression hose fittings with finer threads. I basically bought a brass T fitting that fits on the cold water shut off valve that has the 1/4” tee on the side and a fitting at the top for the main sink faucet supply line. i bought a derlin, insert and brass nut to run from the valve to the filter with the 1/4 plastic pipe provided. Doing this is a better route as the 1/4 shutoff valve provided with the couplings also looked cheesy. Could always install an inline 1/4 shutoff on the white pipe but not necessary. The way i did it means you dont have a dedicated filter shutoff, instead the sink faucet and filter are on the same shutoff. One thing to keep in mind, follow the instructions for pre cleaning and expect some condensation on the lines until the tank is full as it takes some time (approx 3 hours). The constant cold water movement will create condensation! But not to worry as it will go away under normal operation. Tip: I also like to add some pipe dope over the pipe tape on the threads of all fittings, especially the tank shutoff. Also keep in mind that RO systems use more water and have a drain line that trickles after each use. Overall I’m happy with the water quality and I’m not too concerned about the issues installing as I’m a builder and know a bunch about plumbing. For those who may DIY you may have some trouble, so i suggest to hire a plumber. FYI We are on a well system that gets dumped with clorox and contains a high level of nitrates from uphill neighbors livestock and septic run off. This unit really makes a big difference for us in water quality. Since its already ‘treated’ we opted not to do a uv light. ... show more

    • Easy to install
I mounted my system in the basement on the wall just ran a tube up to the kitchen sink and one to the refrigerator. Great water and ice. The ice is clear and no bad taste or odor. I am an hvac technician/plumber/anything that needs repaired lol.

Parts weren't what the photo showed and were terribly difficult to install. Also had to order another tank as the one came had a defective weld on the hose attachment. The tank was send quickly, however. My husband is an engineer and was not happy with way the parts needed to be assembled. We still haven't be able to run water through the tank as it still have a leak on the top valve. Good grief! ... show more

The plastic valve that goes on top of the tank is not good enough (3rd photo). I could not get it to stop leaking, no matter how much teflon tape i put on it. So i had to purchase a brass reducer and a metal valve from lowes, that worked great (1st photo.) And the supply line valve was no easy to use you can not put the 1/4"line over the barb (2nd photo). So i purchased a Tee to attach to the supply valve, ( 4th photo) this worked great only i will have to turn valve to sink off to change filters. ... show more
