Not sure the 4" size is accurate. Engine really strains at about a 3" piece. But, I kinda expected that. It probably could do 4" piece of some dry light wood. Maybe. Could never do a 4" piece of oak. Blades due duel pretty fast, suggest getting spares, so you can maybe get a set re sharpened On a whole, I expected that, and I satisfied with product.     • Great power and fast chipping
The C40 does everything that it's advertised to do with the exception of the blade life. I had to buy extra blades as I typically get about two to three hours of chipping before I have to replace the blades. And replacing the blades is no simple act, it takes quite a while. ( at least one hour, closer to two hours to replace the blades) I would happily purchase more expensive blades that could handle 8 hours of work. I even looked for machine shops that would make them for me, but the batch size is too small for most shops. ... show more
