I don’t know why but I was expecting more of a film to cover the windows as opposed to sheet of material. It does keep out the light for sure, I had to use several sticky pads to keep the material taut so no light would peek through. ( I’m a day sleeper) but I served it purpose, make sure you measure accurately and go over a little just to ensure the entire window is covered, if you’re a vampire like me, lol! I would prefer they sell the material in sizes to cover standard windows because now I’m left with pieces that I have to either stitch or tape together for other windows. It definitely covers up and i feel the room is a bit cooler since the direct sunlight isn’t coming in. ... show more

I don't usually write reviews but man was this a great buy. I have a front facing bedroom that gets blasted by Texas morning and afternoon direct sunlight. The bedroom is noticeably at least 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house and you can feel an immediate difference when you step out of it. Even with multiple blackout curtains up the heat just radiates in. I ordered this product and stuck it up without even trimming it (it's a large window). I waited until peak afternoon heat and walked into the room and didn't feel much of a difference from the rest of the house. Even getting closer to the window you don't feel the heat coming through the blinds at all. The reflective side is definitely working and not absorbing much of that heat. Great price, amazing product. Worked 1000x better than I expected. My only complaint being how goofy it looks from the outside but oh well. ... show more

I work nights so I need it to be really dark in my room. I already had blackout curtains but sunlight would shine through the bottom and top. These under the curtains made it completely black as if it were nighttime. I love them!!

    • A very inexpensive and effective solution

I'm having a custom light-blocking shade fabricated for the skylight. Until it arrives, the black out blind works well -- super easy to install and solves the problem of a skylight that is not opened allowing too much heat into the room. It's an excellent short-term fix.
