I'm so happy with this. I'm a 5'2" 60 year old woman, I knew I had yard clean up to do and wondered if there was such a thing as a leaf vacuum. Lo and behold the marvelous machine exists! It cut my usual rake and shovel clean up by an hour and cut my bags down from an average of 15 bags down to 4.

    • Great Heavy Duty (air wise) corded Blower for doing my leaves
I wanted to get a heavy duty corded blower for doing my fallen oak tree leaves and just tried it today on my back yard and with the 250 mph blower made it easy to move the leaves around. Just get a nice heavy duty line cord to plug into the unit. I have 2 50ft line cords to extend out and get all my yard area (which is more than enough). They ask for a drying rating which is a does not apply for me, because I use it for moving my leaves in the fall. So I gave a rating of 4 - but rating does not mean anything in my usage. The unit with a supplied adjustable strap made it easy to carry/hold and move around to blow the leaves. They say it weighs about 8 pounds. Holding onto the blower, I can grab 2 handles on the unit to easily aim the blower. The noise it makes is not too loud for me and is not a high pitched sound, so it did not bother me while using. The unit was easy to assemble for doing blowing and did not use the one last end piece on the blower so to make the air cover a slightly larger/little more area. There is a video on the amazon buy item page to show the assembly steps which I watched even before I got the unit.. I did not try the vacuum yet which has a couple other/different attachments and permanent and disposable bags. I have so many leaves this time of year, that using the blower is my best choice, then I use a rake to pick them up, put into a container, and then roll it to the street. I would probably use the vacuum for small jobs if need be. All in all I like this heavy duty corded blower and makes it easier/faster for me to do leaves than my other 2 lightweight blowers I own. Leaves, some small sticks even some evergreen type needles, not great at it but give you an idea of suction. Still don't like carrying the bag. Glad to have one again.

    • Vac/mulch works great!
I used the B&D blower/vacuum/mulcher today for the first time, to clean up the leaves in our back yard. Our yard is roughly 1500sf and we have two big trees that dumped about 2/3 of their leaves that I needed to pick up. The wind was very strong last night, so it took care of gathering the leaves into a few main areas in the yard so I just had to vacuum them up. I did not use the blower function this time, only the vacuum/mulcher. It worked great! I was so pleased with the suction power, much more than I was expecting. I did use it on the high seeing the whole time. It was able to make quick work of piles, as well as picking up the leaves that had been walked on and smashed into the grass. It comes with a strap that clips onto the machine so you can put it across your shoulder/chest so a lot of the weight is on your shoulders and not on your arms. It's easy to maneuver and lightweight to start out. However, as you vacuum up the leaves, the collection bag gets heavy, so you then start to feel the weight. Nice thing is, the collection bag is very easy to snap on/off, and the zipper to empty it makes it easy to do so, as frequently as you need to. I picked up all the leaves in the back yard, emptied the collection bag 5 or 6 times, and it all mulched down to fit into a 40 gal contractor bag. Awesome! Thank you to another reviewer who warned of the dust from the collection bag. I heeded that warning and wore a mask, and it was very much needed. If you don't wear glasses you may consider wearing some goggles or safety glasses too, to keep the dust out of your eyes. Fair warning, you will get very dirty running the vac/mulch, so just plan on having to change your clothes and shower afterwards. A small price to pay for this machine that does a great job.
