For a cheap product, sure does a great job. I usually keep the previous coffee maker. Usually. Just in case. VEVOR Programmable Coffee Maker, is the previous coffee maker that I tossed. I will review that...shortly. *I always keep the carafes and filters. "Better to have and not need, than to need and not have." Anyway, back to the Black and Decker. So far, a great cup of coffee. No leaks. The temperature is on point. The taste is perfect. It brews the 12 cups like it says. This $35 machine is simply better than the $65 machine. I also want to point out, I am not a picky man about coffee. I want coffee. I want it in my belly. This machine is way faster than the Vevor. Thankfully this machine is also paper filter friendly. We had the earlier model for > three years and used it daily. When it quit working we got this newer version. They have fixed all the little annoying things about the previous model. There’s no requirement to clean every so many cycles. That always unexpectedly interrupted morning coffee-making. Instead we just clean once a month. The carafe pours better. The buttons are easier to read. The shape makes it easier to pour in water. The timer is easy to set. My only issue is that the “sneak a cup” feature doesn’t really work well because of the way the caraffe fits. If I could give it 4 1/2 stars I would. ... show more

Bought this to replace an older maker that quit working. It was same day delivery. Packaged well from the manufacturer! Unboxed it, plugged it in, ran one cycle of water through it. Set up the timer for next morning. When I awoke, the coffee was ready much hotter than the previous, which I was hoping for! Coffee tasted great, easy to use, and like the 12 cup capacity! Sadly I accidentally dropped my coffee pot into my sink trying to wash it and it shattered the entire bottom, so I just bought a similar one, same brand. It works fine, but it doesn’t work as the instructions say. Supposedly when you push the clock button to brew it will give you a green light on the left upper side, and when it’s done brewing it will have a red logo on the bottom right side. I cannot get it to give me the green light for brewing, but if I just hold the clock button down, I’ll hear it stat to gurgle and then it brews. So that part is definitely (at least on mine) not functioning properly, but I don’t care enough to return it and be without coffee another morning, and B&D is always a decent brand. I have a $2800k fancy espresso/latte/cappuccino maker that grinds fresh beans and I use the plain old coffee pot way more because I drink too much coffee to make cup after cup, I want the whole carafe. Besides that one faulty light, it works like any other $35 coffee pot, no frills, and it gets the job done. ... show more
