Great book to read outloud to childrenk*6
I bought my daughter a Side by Side book because she and her brother loved it when she was little. She is pregnant with my first grandbaby and she's excited for her baby to be born so she can share it with her daughter.

Fantastic Children's Book
This was my son's favorite bedtime reading when he was a child. He loved to select the seasonal poems--as well as those out-of-season.. I order one for every good friend's grandchildren as a gift. So glad to find a copy in such excellent condition as the book is no longer in print.

Beautiful illustrations
This was recommended by out summer Kumon book. This book is difficult to find. What we received was used and was of good quality. My little one really loves listening to the poems and especially loves the beautiful illustrations.

Loved this book when I read it to my kids growing up. Wanted to get copies for family's grandkids and was so very happy to find it, especially at a reasonable cost!

DELIGHTFUL Poetry Book
I first borrowed this book from our local library because it was recommended for young children by Jim Trelease in his Read Aloud Handbook. My child is nearly 3 1/2 and reading these together became a favorite activity while nursing my younger one. We both enjoyed it so much and we were both so sad to return it I decided to buy a used copy here on Amazon. All the poems are illustrated and of varying lengths. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful. They remind me of the great illustrations from books when I was a child. Also, they are arranged by theme so that it starts with poems about Spring time and progresses into Summer and so forth. At the end are the bedtime themed poems. FYI: There are 2 halloween poems (but those aren't the only Autumn poems) and they talk about witches and ghosts although they are light-hearted and not creepy. There are also some Thanksgiving poems and the classic 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' among others. My child enjoyed these fun poems so much she often quotes or acts them out. This was just what I was hoping for. It's one of those books I know I'm going to keep no matter how big my kids get.
