The 16 inch segments produced an overall length that was either too long or two short. So I took one segment and cut 8 inches out of the center and glued the two ends together to make an 8 inch segment. Perfect for my application! We really appreciated that the curtain rods came with all sorts of screws and fixtures. We have an older home with inconsistent studs and were able to install the curtain rods without any issue. So far it has been holding up quite well and looks good too!

The way this goes together makes visible ridges every foot (it comes in 1ft sections that you screw together)- so you won’t get a smooth rod look with these. It does say this in the listing, but I clearly didn’t pay attention to that. From afar you won’t notice but not the best design wise. Otherwise these are well made, sturdy, and go together easy. ... show more

The rod is made up of 12in pieces that you fit into each other to get the size you want. Of course your size has to be in 12in increments. Each section has ridges on the end so you don’t get a smooth rod. Then you have to store the extra pieces. Some pieces fit snuggly together, others wobble - a lot. The left and right ends aren’t the same either, 1 side has a small separation (that’s the best explanation I could give). I bought 3, returning all 3. ... show more
