Great video quality. I had a chance to compare it to a B40 side by side and the difference was very noticeable. I posted pics showing a night time screenshots for reference - the better picture is from the B60. It is a little wider than the B40 but still very low profile due to its shape and lower height. Big fan of the lock/unlock switch on the top in case you would like to easily detach the device from the windshield mount/plate. A few small cons: -I did not like the fact that the USB port is on the left side of the device. It makes it less discreet if you are planning to run wires through your interior panels and above the rear view mirror. -Would prefer a capacitor version (this has a small battery instead) but the cost is low enough to take a chance on the battery failing after some time especially since the video quality is very good at night. Its a camera after all. -Hated the silver housing around the lens. Its VERY noticeable from outside the car. I took it apart and sanded it down. Luckily the plastic underneath is black. ... show more

    • Clear picture, but enjoy it while it lasts (about 6 months)!
Purchased this camera as a gift for my mother's vehicle and also purchased the 2-Yr Square Trade Warranty. I purchased it in November and had it installed in the beginning of December. It began cycling on and off around the beginning of June and you would have to wiggle the cord sometimes and it would work, other times it would just continue to cycle on and off. The start of July brought a whole new issue: it falls off the mount. Now, the mount isn't the problem since it attaches firmly and in place to the windshield, but the camera casing does not lock into place. It started falling and hitting the console around every single turn. Hit a bump? Fall. Make a turn? Fall. Accelerate? Fall. I contacted the seller in August and was given a script of directions to reset the camera, but given no response on the mounting issue. I was told that I should get different SD cards because some weren't correct (hint: they were correct and nobody ever asked what SD cards I had). Then the seller told me to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer redirected me to the seller, stating that they are not sellers and made no guarantee that it is authentic or covered. I contact seller again who tells me it may be falling because of "exposure to the sun or heat". Seller (Deluxe Essentials) stated that maybe a replacement mount can be purchased, but it's not the mount -- it's the camera casing and the "lock" position that doesn't work! It's a dash cam. It's going to be exposed to sun/heat. If you live somewhere with 90+ degree temps, be warned! It's Oklahoma, and while I recognize we have our balmy summers, we had a *very* mild summer and not days of triple digits. If normal wear and use (dash camera on the dash and in the sunlight) cannot be had because it cannot operate after being exposed to sunlight or heat, then that should be stated in the listing. TL;DR - Falls off mount and cycles on/off after six months of use. - Seller points me to the manufacturer. - Manufacturer points me to the seller. - Square Trade Warranty doesn't go into effect until a FULL YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. So not covered until November 2018. - Amazon has their hands tied because, well, policies. So there you have it! The picture quality is clear, the sound was choppy at best. Don't expose to heat or sunlight on the dash. Be prepared to possibly replace cables, SD cards, push a LOT of buttons that won't do anything, and then get nothing from the coverage you purchased. ... show more

I have been using Black Box B40 cameras for quite e few years now. Recently we had a B40 capacitor version stop holding memory so it would default to factory settings every time we shut off the vehicle. We replaced it with a new one and it works fine. On our 2nd truck the B40 just started power cycling itself. I decided to upgrade to the Black Box B60 model since I've had decent luck with the brand. When I received the unit, I set it up and thought everything was good. After shutting off the vehicle, it would revert to factory settings. I then thought that it needs to charge the internal battery longer so I left it powered on overnight for about 10 hours. Upon powering down then power back on, it reverted to factory default again. I ordered a replacement on Amazon and received the replacement in 2 days. Upon powering on, I let it charge for about 20 minutes and tested it out. Low and behold it is charging and holding memory for my settings and time and date. I then ordered another B60 thinking it was just a fluke but after leaving it plugged in and powered on for 6 hours, it reverted back to factory settings as did the first one. Out of 3 units, 1 works as it should. I returned the 3rd device for a refund and will be looking for a different camera. The video quality is superb but too bad it is a crap shoot on getting a working unit. ... show more

Nice dash camera unfortunately the loop feature does not work. I made sure to set up all the features before hanging the camera up so imagine my surprise 6 months later when I checked the sd card for needed video I find that the camera did not loop or stopped looping at least 3 weeks after I installed it. Unbelievable... Setup for the camera was not too difficult. I had to keep working with the windshield setup to make sure the camera locked and remained in place. I have had it for 2 years abd it has not fallen off. Daytime picture quality is excellent, night time picture quality is acceptable. I installed the camera directly under the rearview mirror. I like that it is easily missed from the outside unless you stare at it directly while standing in front of the parked car. I had to purchase 3 64gb micro sd cards to make up for the camera not looping. I should have purchased a more reliable and expensive camera that does what it claims. ... show more
