I have always been the "get down on your hands and knees" sort for cleaning floors. Alas, that is no longer physically possible. I have spinal issues, and can't carry much weight, either. So, I have tried a number of solutions: this Bissell, damp swiffers, a spinning mop set, and 2 brands of robotic floor cleaners. This one turned out to be my favorite. I have had it for 10 months now, with no issues. I bought one extra set of mop heads at that time, and there is no sign of needing to replace any of them, yet (Two person household, one cat, and one of these people refuses to take his shoes off so the floors get really dirty). First, the mop set. These are really nice. I bought one when they first arrived on the scene, and the brand was called "Sir Mops A Lot." There are other brand names, too, and they look similar so it is probably the same manufacturer. This did make mopping the floor much easier. It could take a little bit of patience to get the mop lined up to "spin" correctly, but that wasn't an issue for me. I liked the on-board soap dispenser, and the built-in handle to move it around. The problem was that due to my limitations, I could not empty the bucket. I could fill it one pitcher of water at a time, and didn't want to handle dirty water that way. Otherwise, my search would have ended. Sir-Mops-a-Lot Spin Mop - Revolutionary Rolling Spin Mop and Stainless Steel Bucket System with 360 Easy Wring Swivel Technology - Top Rated Wood Floor Mop and Tile Floor Mop Damp swiffers just didn't get the job done, and depended on me to apply pressure which is tough on my spine. I tried 2 brands of robotic floor washers, because I really wanted that to work. Who wouldn't want a robot to do the floor? :) One famous name-brand had problems with leaking, and the other got itself stuck going in a tight circular pattern while I wasn't paying attention, and it actually damaged the vinyl tile (poor flooring choice, but still). So, I do not recommend those. For just a vacuum, sure. To mop it has to have much more contact with the floor, and that's where there is more potential for damage either from that, or leaking that could go unnoticed. This spinwave mop has been just great! At 8 pounds it is coming close to maxing out the weight I am allowed to carry, so I do not fill the water container. Instead, I just spray the cleaner on the floor ahead of time, and then go for it. The pads stick onto the velcro easily. Some reviewers mentioned that theirs did not work. I wonder if they tried lowering the handle out of the vertical position. It doesn't spin until you do that. This glides over the floor, and as long as the pads are lined up evenly, it takes almost no effort at all to guide it. I could do it with two fingers! The pads go into the washing machine, too, and I love that aspect (I knock the loose dirt off, first). There are pads that are completely soft, and others have a slight scrubby texture to them. I found that either type gets my floors very clean, even the grout. I just received my Spinwave this morning and immediately started testing it. I could not be more impressed. It was incredibly easy to assemble and use. No problem attaching or disattaching the cleaning cloths and my tile floors look wonderful. For many years, I have been using a basic Swifter mop but they recently came out with a “new and improved” pad which left a film on my dark Mexican tiles. The Spinwave is 100% improvement over the Swifter mop in ease of use (no more replacing the nasty pads every couple of minutes!) and my floors look shiny again. I will still use the Swifter for small cleanups and cleaning under furniture with low-clearance. Having said that, the head of the Spinwave rotates and can be used horizontially or vertically which allows it to get into smaller crevice areas. I was also surprised at how little water/solution is required. Unless you are doing a very, very large area, I suggest starting with the lesser volume at first. Also, although it weighs 9.5 lbs, it did not seem heavy to me, a 130 lb female. I would not hesitate to give it to my 94-yr-old mom who still does her own cleaning. One important note: The power cord has a 3-pronged head. We live in an older house and have replaced about half of our outlets but still have many that will only accomodate 2 prongs (all of my vacuums etc have 2 prongs). Fortunatley, the unit has a very long cord so I have been able to work the problem. One other note, I called Bissell’s help line when I could not initally get the unit to turn on, following the instructions in the pamphlet which say to press the power button to turn on and then recline the body of the unit to start the rotating mop pads. It turns out that, on my unit, it is necessary to recline the body before the machine will turn on. I will update my reveiw if I have problems in the future but for now, I am absolutely over the moon impressed!

I always dread cleaning our laminate floors because other "wet pad" cleaning devices have never seemed to do the job well enough, or require so much effort, or simply break because any scrubbing required is too much for the handle to handle. I ordered this SpinWave yesterday after getting about halfway through the job using one of those inferior wet pad devices. It came today. Assembly is simple, and the instructions are fairly clear. To save you from any more walls of text, I'll simply say this: it does the job it's designed to do, and does it very well. It's quiet, and because the pads rotate it almost drives itself around. It is a little hefty, but that "self driving" element means you really don't notice the weight at all. I cannot give a strong enough recommendation for this product! If you have laminate, tile, or hardwood, you will not be disappointed. 4 stars for Maneuverability because of the weight. 3 stars for deep cleaning because nothing will ever beat getting on your hands and knees with a Magic Eraser to get the sticky crud. Don't expect this to get those kinds of messed up quickly or easily. 5 stars for hardwood (laminate) because it really does a great job on that kind of smooth surface. I'm only 1 use in, but I think this may be the best $85 I've ever spent on a household cleaning item.

I love this machine! I used a floormate for years until it "died" and I researched lots of machines before deciding on this one. I have tile and engineered hardwood floors and wanted a machine that could clean both. I never used the floormate on my wood for fear of scratches from the bristle scrubbers. The SpinWave is wonderful on both my floor surfaces and cleans them without leaving streaks or whirls. I have back problems and worried that, because it doesn't have wheels to roll it, it would be difficult for me to carry from room to room. But this machine is very light and I can lift it easily. And, you don't have to push and pull it across the floor! Once turned on, the whirling cleaning pads glide across the floor. It takes just a gentle hand to direct the glide. And, because of the swivel action where the machine head attaches to the pad attachment head, you can easily clean areas smaller than the width of the pad attachment head (I love this feature!). Even though the pads are circular and clean in a figure eight pattern, you can easily clean along baseboards. The only places you will still have to hand clean will be the right angle corners of a room. The round pads just can't touch those areas. But the SpinWave does such a fast and complete job every where else, I don't mind. The scrubber pads clean my textured Italian tile floors really well. They have little pits and wells that give the floor depth and character, but can make it more difficult to clean. All in all, I love this machine. It cleans so well and doesn't leave streaks. (The enclosed samples of Bissell CrossWave cleaner are nice, too!)

Wow, this product is a life saver! Let me just start by saying I hate mopping! I have two very large dogs who have slob or snot issues lol. I have been breaking my back or hiring a house cleaner to clean my floors but the time in between that being done with a regular mop, left my floors looking disgusting. My interim cleaner, Swifter, didn’t get up the tough spots. Mopping is back breaking work especially with 2250 square feet of tile! I tried the irobot mop and it was a joke. It was tiny and didn't clean as needed, didn’t get off tough spots. It is truly for a small bathroom or very small kitchen. I did some research and found this product. Based on the reviews, I figured for $100 it was worth a try. Some reviews were so excitable that I didn’t know if they were just obsessed with cleaning or it really was that great of a product! It truly was the later! I loaded it up with water and cleaner provided which was super easy with marks on the side to show you where to fill for a small or large area. I plugged it in and off it went. I was shocked at how well it worked! It really does do the work for you and pulls along to move around which is great. It took me 15 mins to clean an area that would normally take me hours by mopping. There is no need to put pressure on it, just hold the handle, let it spin and redirect as needed. The tougher spots (dog slob or snot) do require it to go over a few times but again, no effort required by you except to redirect it back over the same area. The pads have velcro so super easy to put on/off. They are washable so no buying endless replacement pads. I actually enjoy mopping with this thing (don’t tell anyone lol). I am just as thrilled with this as I was when I got my first irobot rumba. Best household purchase of the year by far! Do not pass this up!

I am in love! We switched the majority of our flooring in our home to a high gloss porcelain last Fall and, while I adore my floors, I have two kids and three dogs and a reflective floor shows everything. To be honest, that is exactly why I got the porcelain - so I could know when it needed cleaning. Anyway, mopping and vacuuming were a chore and a half and I had my eye on the Oreck Orbiter to take over the mopping duties. Renting and using the Oreck just once made me realize that my shoulder joints would give out before the Oreck did. And then, along came Bissell with this lovely little mop. Light and pretty and oh, so easy to use, this is a dream come true for how I want my floors to look. The buffing pads spin just like the Oreck Orbiter but the vibration is no where near as heavy so that your arm doesn't feel like it is going to fall off by the time you are done. To be fair the Orbiter is a polisher and this is just a mop but still . . .. I ordered the mop with the extra Mop pad kit and I am glad that I did since I went through all the pads by the time I was done with the house. Observations : The scrubbing pad was not my favorite. It left swirl marks on my floor which was easily buffed out with a toe so I think it was just left over dirt. For a textured tile or for a non-glossy tile the scrubbing pad might be good but for a highly polished ceramic I found the soft pads to be best. I used warm tap water and a splash of vinegar instead of the commercial cleaning fluid that came with the kit. I prefer not to get unknown chemicals all over the house with dogs and barefoot kids running around and licking things off the floor - the dogs, not the kids! I have been told that a slosh of hydrogen peroxide into the warm water can replace the vinegar and smell less . . . vinegary. The mop does pull away a bit from you especially when it comes up against baseboards so it can be a bit tiring if you are hauling back on it a lot. Also, it does make a rather annoying beep when you press the button to spray the cleaning fluid. You can hear it in the video. The mop head fits smoothly under standard cabinet kick spaces and the front of dishwashers. I was very impressed by that since some appliance designers seem to forget that bit. I hope the attached video helps you to see just how well the mop does this. I did try out the vacuum combined with mop version of the spin wave and it felt a bit too heavy for my liking. I also like the ability to wash and sanitize the pads if needed. Did I mention dogs and children? So, between the Bissell Spin Wave and the Bissell Air Ram I think all my other floor care tools can retire quietly to the garage.

I LOVE this thing! Before this I used the Swiffer Wet Jet and thought that it was doing a good job. However, after doing my doggie-tracked kitchen floor twice, I spilled some water on the floor and used a paper towel to clean it up....the paper towel was DIRTY...really dirty! What??? So, I remembered the old Hoover floor scrubber we had when I was a kid, and found one that was similar (sans brushes), but a lot lighter. The first time I used it I splattered some water on the clean floor and cleaned it up with a paper towel, and the towel was clean! My only complaint about this unit is that it needs more pads; it only comes with four and they get really dirty really fast. I ordered another set of four, and even that isn't enough, so I ordered eight more. I use the scrubber pads to do the cleaning, some of the other pads for rinsing, and a couple for drying. The cleaning liquid that came with it works great and I have already bought some more. I bought the genuine Bissell pads, and not the pads made for the Spinwave and can't speak for them, but the Bissell pads work really well, and come out of the washer looking brand new. (However don't dry them with a dryer sheet in the dryer as that can affect their absorbancy.) This is a really good tool, and a really good price and does an excellent job on laminate floors. I also used it on my vinyl bathroom floors and it did equally well there. I have no wood floors so I can't vouch for it for wood floors.

This thing works and it works really well on hardwood floors. I hate to wash the floors. I love clean floors and I like the floors clean all the time. I recently got a new puppy and clean floors is more of a challenge than ever. I researched a bunch of options (I have a old Hoover Floormate- but its old and not picking up water any more) and felt this one was the best. I strongly suggest you vacuum before you use the Bissell SPINWAVE- so you don't scratch the floors- they tell you that in the instructions. One thing I really like is I control the amount of water/solution that goes on the hardwood floors and that is important with hardwood floors. This Bissell SPINWAVE is a really good product- easy, light weight, small, solution bottle is easy and the floor are clean- its just like running a vacuum. The less water/solution on the floor the better and the floors have never been cleaner. I also bought replacement pads so I can wash some and have others I have available for use- a good idea. One suggestion- I have a friend that runs a hardwood floor business he says ONLY use POLYCARE cleaning solution on hardwood floors. So I tried the Bissell solution- and floors were dull. So I tried the PolyCare cleaner- as I always have- and POLYCare makes a big difference. Just 1 cap full to 24 oz of water in bottle- perfect clean and not dull. Thanks Bissell - great product.
