My other bissell vacuum stopped working so I was in the market for another cordless vacuum cleaner. I like the bissell brand because they seem to all get pet hair pretty well. I read the reviews prior to buying and the only fault I have is that it doesn’t stand up on its own. The vacuum does come with 3 different attachments. I used the brush attachment to clean a recliner and it picked up all the dog hair with ease. I have 3 dogs so the hair is everywhere. I really like that this comes with a light so you can see what you are picking up on the floor and that you got everything. The base of the vacuum is a little bulky but the two attachments make getting hard to reach corners super easy. It stores by hanging on a charger on the wall. The instructions say that it takes 5 hours for a full charge but mine seemed to charge in less time. I will say the battery life is not long. You have probably 30 minutes of run time before it shuts off. My solution to that was I did one room at a time and made sure to put it back on the charger right away. ... show more

    • Best handheld vacuum I've used; with some caveats

This will be the 4th handheld vacuum I've tried and is a bit higher priced than the other ones. If you've used some of these before, you'll know most of them are junk. The motor craps out. This one - you can immediately tell is much higher quality. I mostly use it to pick up loose dog hair on the ground and it's perfect for that. Don't expect this or any vacuum like it to clean your carpet; they just need stronger motors than handhelds have. It is moreso a broom replacement than a vacuum replacement. The suction is not as high as some other handhelds, but for this purpose, I don't really need it to be. What DOES stand out are: - Much easier to empty without having to dip my hand in the dirt-cup and scoop hair out. They claim to have some kind of patented hair-tangling prevention measure and honestly, it shows. Everything dumps out easily. This is the only model I've tried that I would say that about. - Tons of accessories included! - Very lightweight and portable. - Battery life is as good as any other. I keep it on the charger when not in use. When I need it, I can do two full sweeps over my 1600sq ft house without dropping a single battery 'level'. If you need something heavier than that, you probably need a full sized vacuum. - The dirt cup is pretty small. It's much easier to fill up than others I've tried. But really, I don't see this as a con either. These things should be emptied before pounds of dirt and hair are sucked up. Makes it easier to empty. Like the instructions say; the main maintenance you want to do is to empty it every time you use it and clean the filter every so often (once a month, or depending on how often you use it.). ... show more

What everyone needs to know firsthand is that this model number 3080 does not exist on the Bissell site when you are ordering replacement parts. The relevant part number at Bissell is: Model No 29037 Only Amazon sells this as Model 3080. If you want verification of this statement go ahead and spend the time I spent with Bissell Customer support. I had no problems with this model and only wanted an extra filter so I could wash and probably dry the one that came with the product. If you search replacement parts for model 3080 at Bissell you will come up with nothing. If you search replacement parts on Amazon for replacement parts you will come up with a hodgepodge assortment of their best guesses. If Amazon is going to sell a Bissell product here under a different name then they should support that name with specifics. All that said I was mostly impressed with this little lightweight vacuum. There are pet hair vacuums selling for $600. So if you want a pretty good product for $250 I recommend this one. It gets most of the hair in one or 2 swipes. I have a longhair Ragdoll cat that sheds constantly and has very fine hair that likes to cling in carpets and this vacuum does well. Good points: Lightweight and has headlights that really show the dirt. Easy charge and storage. Does clean pet hair. Easier on the wallet then other expensive models Easy empty of dirt and relatively inexpensive replacement parts. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Negatives: Doesn’t stand up on its own. Most stick vacs don’t but after leaning it against things and it still flopping to the floor you’ll know what I mean. The weird Amazon vs Bissell model number thing. The insides of the sticks or tubes aren’t round and even have inner molding bumps that larger pieces of debris can’t get past. So even though the vac will suck some pieces into the transport tubes it may not get past one of these inner molding bumps and this will lessen the vacuum power until you find it rattling around in the tube. My recommendation is to get to know where these are by looking in all the filter areas ... show more
