Very impressed and pleased with this vacuum. I love that it is cordless and lightweight yet powerful. It's simple and intuitive to operate, empty & charge. Easy to maneuver around and under furniture. Perfect for my needs - I agreed to dog-sit for a family member's super-furry bernedoodle for three months without realizing I am quite sensitive to dander. This vacuum has plenty of suction to remove dog hair and dander from my small home's bare floors. I just do a quick pass over my floors every morning, and I am simply amazed at the amount of debris in the canister. If the dog has tracked in mud I follow up with my steam cleaner on the tile kitchen and dining room floors. My eyes are no longer red and itchy and I am breathing better thank goodness. For the purpose for which it was designed and the value received, this is an outstanding appliance. This is not a go-to heavy duty vacuum, nor was it designed to be. If one needs to have the turbo on all the time, then they are using the wrong tool. The turbo is for intermediate heavy spots. Medium works just fine for maintenance or specific jobs. Just to insure that charge life would not be a problem I did buy a second battery (aftermarket clone). This unit replaced a dying Shark of the same genre with the same features, except it would not stand by itself without taking it apart and nesting the motor on the lower part. The Bissell standing by itself is a huge plus. The Shark cannister was a bit larger, and had a trap door for emptying. However the tangled dust bunnies at the top never fell out by themselves. The Bissell forces you to remove the bin, dump it and segregates the filter areas so they are easily picked clean. For me the trade off is worth it: the ability to stand by itself and knowing I have fully emptied the bin. It was approximately the same weight as the Shark, maybe a touch lighter. It definitely had more lights and reveals more targets. It worked on low pile rugs and I have no desire to clean deeper pile runs with a stick vacuum. That is for the big guns corded vacuum (you need that kind of suction to actually get deeper stuff out of the higher pile carpet). The Bissell did a great job on all surfaces tried. Rollers and filters are easy to get to, and I did put up the hang bracket so I do't need to plug anything in when I put it away. Just put it on the bracket and it starts recharging. Nothing yet to say about durability but the machine seems solid. It goes together intuitively with reassuring loud clicks. So far, a happy purchase. ... show more

Bought this after returning a less expensive Bissell. Quality construction, lightweight. Thought the dust cup was a little too small, but it’s fine. Unit has 3 power settings, medium is standard when turning the vacuum on. High will use more battery life, light is good for bare floor and throw rugs. Satisfied with the medium setting. Vacuum is very efficient with the “headlights” revealing dust and cat hair well. Battery life is about 30 minutes. However, a spent battery takes 3 hours to charge completely. So I bought a spare battery for $70! The unit just quits when the battery dies. It will stop and beep if you get stuck under a table or sofa. Just pull it out and restart. You can separate the unit into a hand vac, but it’s a little too heavy to use. My wife wanted a lighter unit saying our old one was too heavy to handle (we’re getting old.) So once we were satisfied trying the unit out, she announce that vacuuming would now be my chore! I was speechless. Catch this vacuum on sale (it’s on sale today for $200, down from $267!) and you’ve got a great vacuum, just as good as a Shark, maybe a Dyson as well. ... show more

Okay wow. I purchased the FurGuard 280W model really really REALLY like this vacuum. I’ve had 5 other stick vacuums over the years including Dyson. This is by far is the biggest bang for the buck. It meets my non-negotiable list; must stand up on its own, must be strong enough to get hair off/out of the carpet, furniture tool that actually removes pet hair, light enough to carry around my 4 story house while running up/down stairs, floor attachment narrow enough to fit on my steps so I don’t need to use my furniture tool on the steps, a crevice attachment, bright lights on the floor attachment, and a good battery life. This checks all the boxes and exceeds my expectations, even cleaned the cat hair off the cat tree in one pass. While it is light weight at around 7 pounds there are stick vacuums at about half this weight if this is a concern for you, as it would be for my elderly mother. 7 pounds is the lightest I would go because I don’t want the floor attachment to dance around on the floor as I’m quickly pushing & pulling the vacuum around. For my weaker 80 year old mother a non-negotiable would be a lighter vacuum, while this one is perfect for me. The only possible con I’ve seen so far is that the seal around the top of the dust in isn’t preventing the hair from collecting at the rim inside the bin. I don’t know if this is actually a design flaw as the seal seemed perfectly fine when I emptied the dust bin. If it becomes a problem I will update my review but most of my vacuums tend to do this, to be fair. Bottom line… if my house exploded would I rebuy this vacuum or look for a different one? Absolutely I’d buy the same vacuum. But I wouldn’t use it to clean up the explosion, it’s just not made for that. ... show more

This vacuum is perfect for me. It was easy to assemble. It is super lightweight and has great suction. I was embarrassed to see how much dirt it picked up from my “already clean” floors and sofas. The attachments are easy to put on and take off. It’s very quiet. I love that it is cordless and has great battery life. It cleans just as well on low speed as it does on high. I love that it stands on it own in the middle of the floor. The vacuum works great on all surfaces (wood, tile, carpet & thick rugs). It is worth every penny. I highly recommend. ... show more
