  • Very disappointed.
I really wanted to like this. I tried many days of tinkering and adjusting to try and make it work. I tried different seed types thinking maybe one type of seed may work better than another. I have come to the conclusion it does not work. To start off the instructions are horrible. I went to the internet for help and found only one video that was in a foreign language that showed assembly. Once assembled correctly first tried pea seeds. No go. Constant jamming. Tried only a little bit in the bin, still didn't work. Okay, tried Indian corn. Its smooth and uniform in shape and size. No go. Plate jams and quits spinning. I continued to try other seeds. Nothing worked. Very disappointed. ... show more

  • My new garden tool
Good product, hoped that it would be a little more than what it was for the size garden that I have, but it did the job. Easy to set up and clean up. Good product for the cost.

  • A total waste of time, money, and enthusiastic anticipation
I was so looking forward to being able to seed my very large garden with cowpeas. What a disappointment this thing was. First, it was almost impossible to put the seed guides in and get it to "work." Then, all it did was broadcast the seed everywhere. Great for grass seed, not good for neat rows of peas! Get a piece of one inch PVC; make it about the height of where your elbow is when you are standing up, and just put the peas in there and you will have a cheap DIY seeder. I also duct taped a little plastic recycled Beneful dog food container to the PVC pipe, and this serves as a seed holder. Lightweight, controllable, and best of all it works! ... show more

  • breaks easily
This is made of plastic and breaks very easily even in a home garden

  • It works but there's a bit of a learning curve involved.
At first,it was a little difficult to set up and get used to but once I got past the learning curve, the seeder worked fine for my needs. The instructions in the manual are correct and complete but are a little hard to understand at first. There are too few words so you have to correctly interpret the photos. The seeder pieces are made to fit together quite precisely and must be assembled carefully. For instance, the clear plastic cover must be seated all the way down and the tab on the inside of the cover must hold the top of the disc in place. The wheels and axles have to be pushed in all the way until you hear a click. Once you get used to changing out the discs and getting everything seated properly, everything is fine. One word of warning, however. The seed disk table isn't too accurate. An example is carrots where they recommend the #5 disk but the seeds are too small for that disk and a #6 has to be used. Test your seed distribution before seeding a row and change disks as necessary. ... show more

  • Poorly designed, requires modifications in order to work.
Bought this to plant 5 rows of corn 75 feet long, the cog on the axle won't stay in the spacing wheel at all because corn jams it up. The only way to fix it was to 3D print a spacer so that wheels would seat up tight against the hopper to stop this from happening. Considering what it costs to have things injection molded, this company spent a lot of money to build a piece of junk. ... show more

  • Dont waste your money
Im a market gardener. Grow on 1/4 acre and Ill tell you now, spend the extra $60 and get yourself an earthway if you want a cheap seeder. This thing is garbage. Unless you have PERFECT, soft, fluffy soil, with nothing in the way dont waste your time. I have sandy soil and this thing doesnt even go through it if theres a pebble or wood chip- hell even a half rotten tomato leaf will stop this thing immediately like your car hittin a parking block. At first I really liked the concept and design- especially the seeder plates and adjusting for spacing was a great idea, but it just doesnt work..atleast with the earthway you go a little faster and the overseeding will be spread out a bit more so you dont have to thin as much. AND the earthway covers and tamps the seeds, this doesnt. I ... show more

  • yeah it looks cheap but works and hold up like a champ.
heck of a lot better than my over $400 seeder. I actually use it on my farm. WHAT with bulging eyes!! Yes I use it on my farm. We seed, tatsoi, bok choy, spinach etc. It really works!! I bought it as a joke in a way but seeing it was designed in Germany, I figured it'll probably work. Sure enough. Its amazing. You can adjust the spacing within a row easily, depth seems to be okay. Wheels don't jam to a stop unlike my over $400 seeder. My farmer friends are weary still though... That's okay because I'm one happy camper with this seeder. Few minor shortcomings with the handle but at this price? Who cares. ... show more
