  • Best for Bears, Ballgames, and Broadway
Color: Green
I bought this before our big family cruise to Alaska. I wanted to be able to actually see things from the ship. These were great especially for the price. 10/10 do recommend. They are small and light enough that they aren’t obtrusive or obnoxious to wear around my neck or on my belt. I would note that although small I wouldn’t call them pocket sized unless you have very large cargo pockets. I could have put them in my biggest cargo pocket but the case has a loop for a belt so when I wasn’t actively expecting to use them they stayed nestled in their case on my hip. The case is strong enough that I felt confident I wouldn’t lose them if I brushed by people. I was able to clearly see (from a safe distance) wild, bears, sea otters, eagles, glaciers, people picking their noses, and a pictograph! They are easy to adjust and didn’t require much adjustment between views at different distances which was nice that they weren’t as finicky as previous ones I’ve owned. The 3 year old had a hard time with them but the 7 year old was able to figure them out pretty well. While in Seattle, I took them to a Mariners game where they did pretty well but the ball moves a little too fast for the field of vision and my binocular know how I suppose lol but they were great to focus in on the individual players. We also attended a performance of Les Misérables at the 5th Avenue Theater. I’m so glad that I brought my trusty binoculars! They did great even in the low light of the theater. We were in the nosebleed section and couldn’t really see faces or a lot of details but the binoculars brought them all into focus. We passed them back and forth when new characters appeared or new interesting scenes changed. Now they live in my car with my trail guide for when I spot a cool critter and want to try to ID it from a distance. I’m thinking about buying a second pair for the house just so their handy and I want to see more detail on animals (wild and pets) in the backyard. I will be taking them on all future trips from now on. I need to get better at taking pictures through them. I posted two pictures that I took in Hoonah, Alaska. One normal view and the other through the lenses of the binoculars. Lol try to spot the bears without the zoom in…. Hint: They look like two very slow moving rocks. The color change was mostly a phone thing as the phone camera didn’t really know what to do with the light I guess. The view through the binoculars didn’t seem to have the same color change to my eyes and was still very vibrant. ... show more

  • Clearly Amazing!
Color: Black
There are a few things I just don’t buy online, binoculars being one of the top items. The first two or three I did purchase online were quickly returned. My two boys (ages 17 and 18) and I are total outdoor people. You name it, we do it! I’m a country girl from Texas who introduced them to the outdoor lifestyle at a very early age. Binoculars, scopes, and other opticals are an important part of that type of lifestyle. Be it hiking and simply observing nature, scouting out a good location for a deer blind, or sight fishing in clear saltwater, we need quality and prefer a price tag that won’t drain my bank account. To say I was a bit leary about these would be an understatement. Anytime I buy something online, reviews play a huge role in my decision, so after reading positive review after positive review, combined with the huge discount offered at the time, I couldn’t pass them up. My philosophy in life is to buy on Amazon because it’s so easy to return items. So, I figured it was worth the chance. I was needing a new pair of binoculars to replace the bulky ones I keep in my Jeep, so I bit the bullet and bought them. When they arrived, I stopped what I was doing and immediately opened the box and took them out. I didn’t even wait to go outside to test them. I was blown away by the clarity of the details of things across the living room. Most of my binoculars are worthless on items just a few feet away. Of course, that made me worried that they wouldn’t work on items far away. To test its performance at further distances, I went outside and looked across the pond to the duck house which was about 175 yards away. I couldn’t believe the clarity there, as well! I could see every little feather in amazing detail! I must have spent well over an hour simply sitting on the back porch looking at stuff at all different ranges. The images were so sharp and clear. The colors were so vibrant even at further ranges that it was as though I was standing right by them on a sunny day. I decided grabbed my “car binoculars” so I could see if they were really as amazing as I was thinking they were. Although their magnifications were a bit different from each other, they were close enough that I could fairly compare them side-by-side. That’s where I really saw how absolutely jaw dropping these are. I attempted to use my phone to take photos through the lenses, and although the pics I took looked good, I wasn’t satisfied that they would show the clear differences between the two or give a fair picture of just how clear, crisp, and colorful the images seen through these are. The last thing I wanted to do was to post photos that might detract from their performance. Since receiving them, they’ve already been camping and hiking, not to mention the random times we’ve grab them to see across the yard or across the parking lot. We were constantly taking them from one place to another, so I actually bought three more! My youngest has a habit of “borrowing” things that never get returned. Some he truly loses, but others, he likes and uses so much that he refuses to give them back. So, he now has his own pair, as does my Jeep and my “everyday” hiking backpack. I keep the other one in my “surplus” closet that holds all of the surplus/backup or seasonal items so if something should happen to one, or if we need one for another reason, we have one ready to go. When that happens, I’ll be purchasing at least one more to replace it. Basically, I have nothing negative to say about these binoculars. Even at full price, I would say they’re worth every penny. They’re extremely lightweight and really compact, which is a definite plus. I can’t wait to take them on our next backcountry backpacking trip coming up this spring! I know my pack will be a bit lighter this year! ... show more

  • Great for Travel
Color: Green
Purchased for a cruise, and they really did well. The neck strap was "eh", so I left it off. They fit in a larger pocket anyway. Comfortable to both hold and have to the eyes, so I'd say if you are looking for a decent product to travel with, get them. Great price, so you won't feel bad if they get broke or lost or something. ... show more
