The running boards are very well made, very sturdy, have a very nice finish/texture on them, and they fit perfectly on my Toyota Tacoma with every bracket aligning up perfectly. They were super easy to install with easy to follow instructions and minimal tools needed. They were very well packed and arrived within a week. One bar had a minor scratch on it, but it wasn't bad enough for me to worry about. FedEx dropped it off in fine shape. A & B sides were correctly labelled. At least 1 of every bolt and nut extra were packed. Installed in 1 hour, no issues at all. Solid as a rock and look nice. For the install, there are little plastic plugs in the frame of the truck, you pop those out with a screwdriver and throw away. Then attach the brackets (A on drivers side). Don’t tighten them down, just finger tight. Then attach the running board to the brackets- one bolt in front, then one in back. Makes the remaining bolts easier to put in. Hand tight again. When all are attached, snug down the brackets on the frame from middle to both ends. Then tighten the running board to the brackets. I didn’t have a torque wrench, but no big deal. Just crank away till solid. No he-man muscles needed. I used locktite, but I’m also anal retentive. These are very nice, very solid, and the step up allows for access to roof and bed. Incredibly easy installation. I could have put them on myself but I got my son to help me out which made it very quick. Less than an hour (not counting removing the garbage GM side steps). The few extra parts weren't needed but were appreciated. Everything was labelled and the instructions were good - with one minor exception. Can you please give us the torque values for all of the bolts? They look really good and they are very sturdy. I'm taking these off road in about a month so I'm not concerned if they get a little dinged up. That's what they're there for. They fit perfectly, no rubbing anywhere. The price is extraordinary considering that the junky plastic GM side steps cost somewhere between $800 and $900 (they came with my truck so it doesn't hurt quite as bad as it would if I had bought them afterwards). ... show more

Update - After the seller read my initial review, they reached out and wanted to make it right. Kudos for doing the right thing. They informed me that they switched to a different powder coater. They shipped the replacements right away and they came in within three business days and were packed extremely well. They look exactly like the first set did when they arrived. Only time will tell how they hold up but I'm giving this four stars for their proactive approach to my initial review and I still really like how they look on the truck. I'll assume the finish is going to hold up better. If not, I'll update the review. Original review -These were easy to install on my Gen 2 Colorado and looked great once installed. However, the durability of the finish is very disappointing. After only a few months, they have several large areas of surface rust and a few spots up to half-dollar size that have completely lost finish. Looks like I will be uninstalling, blasting and spraying with bedliner. ... show more

The installation process was facilitated by clear and concise instructions, which I found easy to follow. However, I recommend reviewing the instructions thoroughly at least twice prior to starting the installation. After successfully installing the driver side, I found that I could complete the installation of the passenger side in approximately half the time. As I took on this project solo, the total installation time amounted to about two and a half hours. One suggestion for the manufacturer would be to consider painting all nuts and bolts black to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the running boards. To address this myself, I opted to lightly spray black paint over the chrome bolts, achieving a more cohesive look. I am satisfied with the quality and functionality of the Binary Star running boards and appreciate their design and performance. The installation process was facilitated by clear and concise instructions, which I found easy to follow. However, I recommend reviewing the instructions thoroughly at least twice prior to starting the installation.
