Replacing the brakes on a 2013 Jetta Sportwagen that just turned 100k miles. Should be a "simple" job per wheel, hey? Four Bolts 1 Screw 1 Rotor 2 Brake pads Except: The Caliper bolt requires both a 20mm thin open ended wrench and a Torx Bit The Caliper Bracket requires a VW specific "Triple Square" bit Compressing the brake piston requires a "wind back tool" rather than just needing simple compression of the piston. For $23 I will NEVER need another caliper compressing kit. This set has both the Left and Right hand drivers, adapters and the plates with pins that engage the face of the g-damned piston to wind it back in. You must have the winder for VW and likely for the rear brakes on many: Common makes where you'll encounter screw-in rear pistons Volkswagen / Audi β very common BMW β common Mercedes-Benz β common Volvo β common Mazda β many models Honda / Acura β many models Toyota / Lexus β many models Nissan / Infiniti β many models Subaru β many models Ford β many models GM/Chevrolet/Cadillac β many models Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep β many models Hyundai/Kia β many models Spend the $23 bucks, this kit will make your life easier and likely last forever.
