We bought a house that had a porch swing held in by two lag eye screws into a 2 by 8 rafter. It did not seem very safe or sturdy. I got these swing hangars for peace of mind. They are very sturdy and I don't worry about them failing as I did with the lag screws. Installation was easy. They even come with two adhesive template stickers to mark the drill holes. They were spot on. My only complaint is they are 2 inches wide so they stick out farther than the 2x8 by 1/4" on each side. Not a big deal but I would have preferred a 1.5" base so it would line up perfectly.

These things are a beast! They are very heavy duty and strong. The set even comes with stickers to place where you want the brackets so you know exactly where to drill the holes. It couldn’t be easier!!! I used these to hang a large wooden porch swing and they are so quiet you don’t hear any creaking or groaning from the metal. Absolutely worth the money!

Never hang your porch swing from single "eye" screws. They will eventually fail and could cause injury. Instead, use these bolts, they are perfect for the job. They have two bolts securing a heavy-duty plate to the beam on our porch, and the center 'loop' moves back and forth for the swing. My husband assured me that they will never come loose. I believe it, because they are really heavy-duty and secure. I have confidence in their holding-safety. They are not "too much" for a porch swing. Better to overdo the strength than to trust something less sturdy/strong. Be prepared to drill holes for the large screws, and to work a bit to get the screws into the wood/beam. Possibly our wood was just really hard. But that's the only thing about installation is the muscle power getting the screws in place. And they will hold!

These are great swing mounts: easy to install and whatnot. I am a bit disappointed that they have just begun squeaking while my 35lb son swings on them. I will probably spray some lubricant on them as a diy fix. This is not a deal breaker, but something people should be aware of before committing to a purchase.

These swivels are very heavy duty and there's no doubt in my mind that they will definitely hold up to 2400 pounds!! But as small as this may seem, they also make mounting them EASY AS CAN BE!! With the Swivels there is a sticker with hole placement already drawn on them!! So you just stick your sticker to whatever you're attaching these to, drill your holes, and anchor them quickly and precisely! To me they look and work great, but the ease in mounting with the supplied stickers, just added that extra hand!!
