PROS: If you are looking for an affordable fire pit to “keep you warm” this is the one. Not only do you get the ambience of a campfire but, because heat rises, this keeps you nice and toasty from your shins to your upper body whether you are sitting or standing. The amount of lava rocks included puts a thin layer in the center for the burner ring keeping the holes clear while there is sufficient rock to place around the outer side of the ring to hide it. We purchased a small ceramic log kit separately placing them on top of the lava rock and not touching the holes of the ring. Perfect! We did set it on 4” high fire ring bricks to keep it up off the ground should we get a downpour in my poor drainage backyard ensuring the underbelly of the pit stays dry. Very light and easy to lift using the side grip holes. Cools fast. Comes with the cover to use once pit is completely cool. CONS: The control knobs are very low to ground so you need to kneel or bend low to turn on. We are elderly so my daughter fired it up first. Once I familiarized myself with the ignition knobs, I could light it myself from a seated position with no problem.

I finally unboxed my new propane fire pit. Easy to set up. Thankfully it came with a new battery for the igniter switch and it lacked instructions to change the battery but found out just un screw the lower igniter button to put the battery in. I also thought the lava rocks were not enough so I am so glad I thought to buy ceramic logs to make it look more like a campfire. I love it and am enjoying it right now.

If your expecting perfection with this price level, keep looking, you probably won't find it. Over all, this is a nice little unit. Puts off enough heat, I set mine on some landscaping stones to raise it up 5 to 6 in off the deck. Perfect height to put your feet up or lean in for heat. It started right up, no problem. The scuffs others talk about is the way it is, not because of shipping. It's suppose to have a real look to rock, though it didn't quite make a perfect mark there. Good enough. I love it. Best part, the price.

This is perfect for my outdoor screened in patio. Very simple to set up and operates with a push off a button. On high the flame is very powerful, but really not necessary to get nice flame and heat. My normal nightly ritual is to pull up my chair, light up the fire pit, and enjoy a cigar and coffee for 2 hours. I really wanted a real wood burning put at first, but nothing could be simpler and cleaner to operate. I'm really happy with the performance and ease of operation. I did purchase some extra lava rocks to supplement what came with the order, but they are cheap at Home Depot and work perfectly. I also like the fact that the fire is closer to the ground like a normal bonfire or camp fire would be, vs 3 feet of the ground like some other fire pits. I have recommended this product to several friends and would definitely repurchase.

Our family loves this fire pit, but there were minor issues. First of all, it doesn't come with enough lava rock to fill the fire bowl up correctly (aesthetics). Second of all, the bottom rim of the pit is very brittle, be extra careful maneuvering this thing around, even with the handle. I am considering building my own base with locking wheels on it to move around the deck when not in use. I would have given 5 stars, but the lack of lava rock and the little broken pieces from the base prohibited it.
