  • Perfect mount for gear in the 7-9 lbs range, very smooth.
Style: S6PRO Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Great unit, motion control is excellent and can be dialed into whatever you for slow pans with 8K 24p landscape footage to 4K 60 sports rapid pans/tilt. Unit is very solid, not super heavy but does have some weight to it ... currently using it with a Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod. To use the counter balance steps (5) effectively you need to do the following: 1. Make sure everything you need is mounted to the camera and/or camera cage 2. Position camera on plate and note index, estimate where you think CG will be 3. Set Counter Balance index to 0 4. Set Fluid Drag control to least resistance 5. Slide camera (on plate) 6. Place angle measure tool on camera and adjust position until 0 degree reading (see images) 7. Lock in place 8. Adjust pan and tilt resistance as desired 9. unlock 10. should stay level and not drop forward or backward, if it does, adjust counter balance dial until it doesn't, if you too far out of range from counter balance, they repeat step 6 The light for the level circle seems a bit of a gimmick but maybe some shoots need the camera perfectly level? Since this can be a tedious, suggest taking not of attached equipment, camera position on plate, and plate position on head (mark as needed). Of course there are more expensive options ... much more expensive options, but for the $240 I paid, it's good enough for my current needs. ... show more

  • Nice fluid head for the money
Style: S6PRO Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I needed a fluid head that had true adjustable fluid drag for both pan and tilt, as well as an adjustable counterbalance spring for tilt. This was the best one I could find in this price range. Unlike the vertical tilt drag, the horizontal pan drag adjustment does require turning farther than what would be expected when changing from more drag to less or visa-versa. If you need a stable pan drag, this is fine, but if you need to adjust the pan drag while using the head, it would be a problem. Vertical does not have this problem. The head had some pan drag variability when first received, and the seller was very helpful in working through this. After a couple of weeks it settled out. From what I could find, it would seem that I would have needed to spend about twice as much for another brand that had the same features (and probably not the play in the increase/decrease of the pan drag), but for my needs of a stable pan drag, this head has everything I hoped for. It works well and I'm very pleased with it. ... show more

  • Very nice video head
Style: S4PRO Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I would give this 5 stars but the counter balance feature on the one I bought does not really make any difference from what I can tell. Bang for the buck, this head is really nice. Small size and weight and offers great quality.

  • Good functionality

Functionality is good. The circular metal decal came off due to adhesive failure.

  • not suitable for telephoto big prime lenses.
Style: S6PRO Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
weak counterbalance for its size and weight not suitable for sony 400, does not return to level position even worse when used with teleconverters. Very heavy.

  • Great budget fluid head for slider, job, monopod, etc!
Style: S6PRO Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
The media could not be loaded. So I recently picked up a brand-new condition Cinevate Duzi slider for a very nice price. The Cinevate company went under, so these are only available on the used market. The max weight capacity is amazing, and the moves are super smooth. I needed a fluid head for the slider. My normal tripod is a Sachtler Ace L, and it's amazing but it's only 75mm ball mount. I knew adding a ball mount rider to my slider would make it too tall and top heavy, so I found the Benro S6 pro here on Amazon, open-box for $160. My biggest problem with finding affordable fluid heads is adjustable counterbalance. This has it, and it's a pretty nice system overall. My camera is a rigged up Panasonic S5iiX with v-mount battery plate, rods, follow focus, and a bunch more. This fluid head can handle it. It uses the same mounting plate (501 style) as my Sachtler. I can put the counterbalance at 3-4 steps depending on how built up my camera is. It provides for nice smooth pans/tilts on the slider, and with a little practice I should be able to pull off repeat shots. It also doesn't weigh a ton, like the Manfrotto 503hdv. I personally think the Benro has better quality moves compared to the Manfrotto, but a much smaller form factor. The 65mm flat base makes it perfect for sliders and small jibs. I can even place it on my Neewer monopod. I'll probably eventually get a second set of lightweight carbon fiber sticks for it to use as a second tripod for event shoots and similar setups. Honestly, for $160 I'm happy as a clam. A great value for a low budget filmmaker. Would I recommend it as your main tripod head if it's all you can afford and you get it at a good price? Yeah, it'll work nicely for you until you can get something better. For low budget comparison, my Neewer monopod came with a fluid head (got it for around $100 altogether as an open box on Amazon). It does NOT have adjustable counterbalance, so I'm either building my rig up to make it the right weight, or I'm fighting against the balance spring on tilts. The Benro is much much better. ... show more

  • Satisfactory, but not impressed...

Does the job but not with much weight atop!

  • Great bang for the buck
Style: S6PRO Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Got this for digiscoping/glassing with my spotting scope, so the adjustable counterbalance was a key feature. With the Nikon Monarch 82ED fieldscope and Nikon D3300 camera body it takes the highest level counterbalance and slid nearly all the way forward. Without the camera it is slid backwards a little bit and a level 3 counterbalance. Really nice to have something that works great in either setup in this price range. The quality of the piece is excellent overall. The tilt drag is pretty good. More of an exponential adjustment, but easy to get where you want. The pan drag I'm not really fond of, but for this price range is good enough. Since I'm not really shooting video it doesn't affect me very much though. ... show more
