Description

By 2025 all brake manufacturers in the United States must eliminate copper from their friction formulations in order to meet the California and Washington Proposition 65 regulations. The legislation was enacted in 2010 due to claims by environmental regulators that as brake pads wear down, copper and other materials are deposited on roadways and in parking lots and then washed into streams and rivers. Too much copper in the water may damage marine and freshwater organisms such as fish and mollusks. On the way to the 2025 rule the legislation requires brake manufacturers to switch their formulations to low-copper. By 2021 copper content in friction must not exceed 5%. Many friction manufacturers have been forced to start developing new formulations and test a number of different materials to match the characteristics of copper in order to meet the 2021 and 2025 deadline.

It is not completely ceramic pads. It has metal in it. It does leave brake dust. Description on website doesn't list, but on box said it has metal. So it doesn't keep our wheels clean. Update: After a 3 months and over 50000 miles of driving. Brake pads hold up very good. Minimum brake dust than oem brake pads. It far better than R1 concept company produce. No noise . So I like these brake pads on our 2017 sienna. Would recommend it. ... show more

Bought this for 2011 Lexus RX 350. Pads are fine but clips are incorrect. They look like the original clips but pads will not go on correctly (yes I did lubricant where the pads meet the clips). I had to use the older original clips and everything is fine.

    • Bending brakes have been around for many many years and I’ve always had good service from them.

I have always had great service from Bendix and at a good price. I put this set on my 2016 Highlander and they work and feel as when the car was new. My only issue was with the metal clips that fit at the top and bottom of each mounting point (not the wear monitor). When I put both of the new clips in place the new pad would not fit (true for both sides). I ended up using one new clip and one old clip on each side and the pads fit perfect, why I don’t know. Direct fit on 2016 Toyota Highlander except that the end clips are pain in the butt to install. I ended up taking the rotor and caliper out to install the pad then put it all back.
