My sweet 12 year old Jack Russell Terrier has been having some skin issues lately. She’ll constantly lick and chew at her backend and paws, causing the skin to become inflamed and prevent the hair from growing back. The Vets say it’s skin allergies and that she’s creating hot spots; they recommended the typical plastic cone in addition to putting hot spot ointment on it. She does not like the typical plastic one as it’s not comfortable and often scares her when she bumps into things, especially at her older age. Enter this inflatable dog collar! It’s very easy and straight forward to set up and install. The size fit perfectly. She can maneuver way better with this than with a typical plastic cone. She’s also WAY more comfortable! She’s been wearing it for about a week now and hasn’t tried to scratch it off even once! This collar does its job and doesn’t allow her to lick or scratch at the areas with the hotspots! So this, combined with the hotspot cream is definitely helping her heal! With a senior dog, comfortability and effectiveness were my main concerns. This product exceeded all of my expectations. I would recommend this to anyone with a doggo going through similar issues!

Works great! My dog (9lb) had a cone for three weeks and it was going badly, I was skeptical about the donut but as soon as I switched to the donut it instantly changed my dog's temperament for the better. She is an old small dog and she was very disoriented and struggling throughout the day with the cone. As soon as I put the donut on her I noticed a huge positive difference in her, she can now see her environment without obstruction and gets around so much better. She has a large wound on her side and hind leg and she is not able to reach it with the donut. There was no adjustment period like with the cone. Definitely a game changer for a dog that is injured or older she is acting like her old self again no problems sleeping, eating, or going on stairs with it on.

Well, I did notice that the air seemed to slowly leak out and it had to be re-inflated occasionally (minus one star). That said however, our dog, Hitch, had a bunch of teeth pulled and also some lumps on his hip removed at the same time. He wore this home from the vet and at home as well for a few days. It is SO much better than the traditional 'cone of shame' that the vet offices routinely send their patients home with. It appears to be MUCH more comfortable as Hitch can rest his neck on the pillow for sleeping, can eat and drink, and it is also very light weight. But best of all it doesn't cause him to crash into everything when walking around or cut off his peripheral vision which, in his case, is a major plus as he is a bit of a high strung, nervous dog. Thank you for making such a thoughtful and comfortable product for my pet.

My dog is fresh out of surgery in this photo and we put the donut on him right away. He is a long dog so I was worried that he would be able to get to his incision, but he wasn’t! It stays inflated well and helped my dog be able to sleep normally as he was struggling with the cone. He could walk around and see and lay down comfortably. I would recommend this to people looking for an alternative to a cone!

I have an active Blue Heeler that needed this after spay surgery. This is designed to be worn using their regular collar- which is threaded into the inside of the ring to ensure a snug fit. My Heeler was able to remove it in less than 5 minutes. It was properly inflated and sized. I could have made her regular collar tighter, but then as she struggled to get it off it created a high strangulation risk. DO NOT use it unattended. Ever. Do not kennel your dog while wearing this collar overnight or anytime you are not in direct line of sight to your dog. It has a great fabric cover and appears well-made overall. Blowing it up is not easy as you have to squeeze the nib VERY hard. Deflating was also a huge chore as you have to squeeze the nib to get all the air out. I understand this is to keep it from deflating while the dog is wearing it. Like people all dogs are different, and some will be able to use this collar with no problem at all. I think this product works better for dogs with a less streamlined head and neck or large head dogs like bulldogs etc.

I got this for my puppy after we got him neutered and it worked out well. He was able to sleep, eat and drink with it on. He never complained while he had it on, he did occasionally bite at it but once I nudged him to stop he did. I think it was worth to get for his 9 days of recovery. I would recommend for sure. He's a yorkie and was 6 months when I bought this for him.

There's no fun way for our pups to wear this protection but after recent surgery for our chihuahua I found that this was more tolerable for him than the dreaded cone. He didn't bump into as much stuff and it seemed generally more comfortable for him. I will say that there were a couple times during the night when he worked his way partially out of it, but I had loosened the neck a bit and I'm sure that was the reason. Overall though it worked very well and for me and him it was more tolerable than the cone. I ordered small and medium as I was worried the medium would be too big, although medium corresponded with the sizing listed. However I can say the sizing listed based on measurement was correct, so you can be confident if you measure correctly that you can trust the listed sizing. I'll keep the small and donate it.
