Second set from this manufacturer to replace a 5 year old set where the battery and charging has been failing; felt it was easier to replace with new rather than deal with the rechargeable batteries etc. The newer upgraded units have two new features: the ability to have colored lighting vs white light, controlled by a switch on the charging unit and they are using different glass. The upgraded glass is ‘wavy’ and projects a wavy image on lighted surfaces. In my application I am light stairs and do not like the wavy or swirled appearance of the lighting. Fortunately the charging module and the housings have not changed and I can use the new charging units to replace the failing ones in the old housings with the non wavy glass. Looks good! Came in perfect condition and easy installation. Only thing is it's smaller then expected. Put on new dog ear cedar fence and I'll need lots more to fill in the empty space. Would recommend for decks and patios that don't need bright LEDS. If you need lumens look elsewhere

These are very nice quality glass and metal, and the size is just right. So easy to install due to the mounting tape to show you exactly where to install the screws for a perfect hang. I got my order last night, so first thing this morning I set them outside with an unobstructed view of the sun. I was so excited to see them in action once the sun set, but they aren't bright at all, not even close to being able to see my new landscape planted directly under where I attached the solar lights to my fence. Now that they've actually been mounted, my hopes are that they will really charge up tomorrow and actually shed some light on my space. I don't want to send these back because they're very sleek, well made and attractive, plus I've already made holes for these in my new fence! But, if they're this dull tomorrow night, I will have to just return these and try to find an alternative set of lights. ... show more

I just finished installing these on my back fence. They do not give off a lot of light so I wouldn't use them for lighting but they look very pretty and add a nice ambience to the back yard.

    • Love these lights
I purchased them for my fence so I could see my dogs in the backyard. The work great and give enough light to see but not glaringly bright light. They turn on like clockwork at dusk and work even when it’s been cloudy or raining all day.
