I bought this skillet to replace our old one that was probably literally from the 70's. Every time I washed it and needed to scrub it (nearly every time since it didn't have a non-stick surface) the run off would be tinged a dark grey. I'm thinking it's a layer of metal and that can't be too good for me. This skillet has been a really good replacement and I love it. I have a family of five to cook for and rather than heating up the whole house I use smaller appliances. The skillet is a good size for the larger dishes I need to cook and I appreciate the sturdy double handles that don't get hot during cooking. It's look is quite modern in a retro kind of way and combined with the glass lid it will look nice as a serving dish on the table as well. The price made it a no brainer to at least try it out. First thing I made was chicken stir fry. The warm up was quick and the heat was even, I didn't need to move the chicken around to different areas to make sure it was all cooked well. The veggies moved around like butter. I love the keep it warm temperature setting since stir fry can get cold quickly. My kids fed themselves in shifts like they do so often in the summer making me a happy momma. The clean up was easy. I usually prefer all of my pots and pans be dishwasher safe (I'm a busy mom who doesn't want to do a lot of hand washing) however I decided it might be ok this time since it was non-stick. And I was right! The ceramic non-stick coating meant the gristle from the chicken cleaned up quick and easy. Nothing stuck to the pan, no Brillo pads needed. From start to finish dinner was quick and good which is exactly what I need. While I really like the two big handles they can get splattered by the food and be a little messy to handle, really only an issue if you are using on the table for serving so it is a very small con. I will update later if I change my mind otherwise this was a very good and useful purchase for me. Tonight I will use it to make skillet lemon dill chicken thighs - yum! Will update if it ends up being a bummer of a purchase a little down the road. ... show more

This is a great skillet. It does get really hot at point where probe goes in. Have to watch close what you are cooking in that area. Easy to clean. There is a learning curve if never or been a long time using this type of thermometer setting. Look at the Manuel to get idea where to set for what cooking. Do not use metal utensils. I've had two so far through the years and I cannot be without one. I love the size because it's just right for a family meal and easy to clean. The depth is just right to fry without getting oil splatter all over the place. It's very versatile. I didn't give it five stars because it came with a dent on the metal edge of the lid. It's ok, but doesn't seal right and it bothers me to get a defective item. That said, I didn't contact anyone about it, so I can't speak on the customer service. I don't ever use metal on its non stick surface, so mine lasts a long time. Wood or plastic only. Wood is my preference. ... show more

My mom used an electric skillet when I was a little girl. And she would say it made lfe easier to cook. I came across this and it made me think of her. And yes cooking with this makes life easier. Easy to cook, easy to clean...just easy. Major recommendation for this skillet. And I'm 67 now and no need to cook big meals with 3 or more pots and pans and to families who are in a hurry one dish 'dump' meals just makes life easier. I like the size of this pan and the nonstick coating is great! I’ve used it several times with no problems. It a replacement for my trusty old Sunbeam that has no coating on it. I’ll keep that one for my camper. Like a few other reviews, I do find that the temperature control is a bit inconvenient to get to with it being under the handle but otherwise it’s a great pan for the price! ... show more
