Charges great. I haven’t had any problems with overheating and the magnet is strong. Only issue is that it’s a vent clip and just like any other vent clip, it eventually will slide around and need to be readjusted.

I was unexpectedly pleased with this product. A few notes: I live in a mountain community and drive on about 2 miles of road, much of which is rough and steep gravel. Even hitting the occasional pot hole or speed bump, I have yet to have it pop off the mount. Some apps may interfere with charging (like my security camera notifications, for some reason), but the performance has been good. I didn't know about mag-safe phone cases and products until about 2 days before I bought this. I give the mount a little push to secure to the vent occasionally, though it seems needless. It takes a little getting used to to align the magnets on the phone to the charger: it becomes second nature. Pros: * Decent rate of charge. * Better than expected performance holding the phone. * Makes a great place to store a phone if you don't have a console or don't want your phone getting knocked around by all the stuff in your console. Cons: * You do block a vent - this is less of an annoyance than it seemed at first. * Can get very hot when charging. ... show more

This car mount after a few months of use has been nothing but fantastic all the way from it's easy installation to the magnets that have held up to some pretty bumpy drives. Speaking of the magnets, the main draw of this is that it has wireless charging capability, which while not as fast as a wired charger is surprisingly quick. From about 10%, it took roughly an hour and a half to hit 85%, although mileage may vary depending on your phone. Highly recommend! ... show more

Had this for many years now but it finally failed on me. Charger hardware, MagSafe etc is all fine. However the gripper has been really loose on me and I didn't really know why. I finally took it apart and found that the screw that holds the gripper in place is loose. Upon closer inspection, the assembly is simply a rubber gripper, with a stamped sheet metal grip, screwed into place with a self tapping screw into some plastic. Naturally what happens is that the self tapping screw gets loose over time and eventually can never be tightened once you strip all the plastic. If this was a 20usd no name product this might be acceptable, but I expected more coming from a brand name 50usd product. now I'm off to see if I can repair this on my own. ... show more

    • Loses Utility in Under 6 Months
I bought this mount on the recommendation of a friend and I really liked it a lot at first. Five stars for the first few months. After a while, however, it stops maintaining its grip on the vent, and the ball joint starts to sag. Mine has repeatedly fallen off, the whole mount and phone clocking me on the knee time after time. Reached out to the friend who gave me the original recommendation and they are experiencing similar issues. Magnet is strong and works well, charging works well, but unit is not a good mount and does not perform well long term. ... show more
