When you use the vent clip the weight just closes the vent. I just put it in my console. Charges great. Wish it came with more options to attach it to your vehicle. It only come with a vent clip. I’m going to buy an attachment to use where I want it

It's important to point out that MagSafe-Compatible does not mean MagSafe. This is a Qi V1 standard charger with magnetic attachment and alignment. That alignment can help mitigate wasted power and excess thermals caused by misaligned inductive coils, however the Qi V1 standard is poorly optimized and often overheats phones regardless. True MagSafe chargers feature NFC for identification by the iOS device and iOS itself has features that allow it to regulate and stop the flow of power into the device in response to surface temperature and battery temperature. The same is not true of the Qi standard. Belkin does sell officially certified MagSafe chargers - but this is not one of them. I was looking specifically for a MagSafe charger that has a 17mm ball mount for my specific application. I'll give this a try and update this review, but at this point a return seems likely. ... show more

Works well. Just check that your USB car port emits at least 18W for MagSafe charging. Old ones don’t. If not, you can get a newer usb-c adapter for your cigarette lighter and that should give you more than 18W.
