I never write reviews on Amazon, but I had to for this trash can. We bought the 10 gallon to serve as a dog poop bag trash can (I see they no longer have that size in stock, but a 6 gallon would work fine as well). For years, we didn't have a good solution for what to do with our doggie's bags after walks. We didn't want to bring them in the house, and they more often than not ended up on the floor outside, until one of us took the trash out, which could take a day or 2. This really bothered my husband and I. This trash can solved the problem. It's small enough for a standard 13 gallon bag, and the lid closes tightly, keeping the smell locked in completely, even during the summer. We've had the can for about 3 years now, and it's in great shape, no rust. Also raccoon proof. Once a week on trash day, we just add the bag to our large trash can so it can be picked up. I put a trash bag in it and use it to scoop my dogs poop in it. It's the perfect size, it's sturdy, was a great price, and doesn't look to bad in my dogs yard. The lid stays on tight until you need it off.

Perfect for my use. I use this specifically for my dog waist. I was previously using a standard 5 gallon bucket with a top. The plastic materials fit well for it's intended use, but the lid was not secure on my previous solution. This product is wider overall, but the wider opening at the top from the bottom makes it easier to deposit waste and remove waste. The lid fits snuggly to prevent any odor from escaping, but still accommodates double-bagged or industrial waste liner, which I use. It's a quality build and made in the USA. USA-built is hard to find and expensive. Fortunately, the quality build you get on this one, the prices is comparable and beats any plastic solution. I would highly recommend. ... show more

Painted with heat paint inside both lid and body. I am using to cool ashes from our cook stove. Then our chickens get them. This should help prevent rusting from heat and cool cycle. Lid really fits tight. This is good as animals and wind can't remove.
