  • Works very well with a caveat
I've been a Dell guy for almost three decades. At first, I had to buy the latest Dell, then time came that I would purchase used because I didn't need the latest. A few years back, I moved into an RV and my wife and I decided to see the US. Unfortunately, Dell desktops don't fit well in an RV and I had to do something else. I started out replacing my low end quad-core machines with Stick PCs, but for the better equipment I needed a solution. Then I discovered the BeeLink line and realized that, for the money, they would fill the ticket. I'm not a gamer, and I'm betting that a serious gamer would not want something with only 8 cores and 16 GB RAM, but they are absolute heaven for my work. They are fast, capable, and I run Oracle Virtual Box on two of them to switch between development environments. Like many low-end machines, you don't want to take up more than 80% of the base resources running Oracle VB machines, but beyond they, they are perfect for my needs. The only thing I do not like is the video driver. If I have it hooked up through my KVM, it will occasionally blank out for a sec. Usually when I first open up my browser or hit a page with a video on it. Sometimes it goes completely nuts, and I have to switch to a different CPU and back. Sometimes I have to do that multiple times to get the screen back. Beyond the video issue, I have zero complaints and since I'm not a gamer, the video issue is at worst a minor annoyance. Eventually, I did switch out the cheap KVM for another slightly less cheap KVM and have almost no flicker. Perhaps a better KVM would fix it completely, but these CPUs are the only ones that show the flicker. Finally, I started using remote desktop to connect to them and since then I have nothing but high praise for my setup. About 8 months after I bought my first one (I have 3), it died. No big deal really, as I keep everything backed up locally or to the cloud. The other two were working perfectly, so I decided to try out their tech support. Much to my happy surprise, it was a no nonsense "send it in, and we'll replace it" deal that took about two weeks from sending to receiving a slightly better replacement. Currently, I have no need for more CPUs, but when the time comes, I'm definitely going to consider putting BeeLink at the top of the list. I can fit 4 Beelinks in the space that originally took up one Dell desktop. Update Sept 2023: I added a second monitor using a display port to HDMI cable (not an active cable) and it’s a beautiful site. The replacement is working great and no problems with the other two. ... show more

  • Great, powerhouse, Bargain PC - 2 minor issues
This is probably the best PC going today. This thing is a powerhouse ! Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound ! Well, OK, maybe not the latter, but still, definitely a super deal. Ryzen 7, 5800H, 32GB memory, 500GB SSD drive all packed into a package about the size of a paperback book? What more do ya want ? I paid $1500 last fall for a full size PC with similar specs. and half the memory. I bought this for my wife and now I'm jealous ! Do not hesitate to buy this PC. You will not regret it. However, you may want to get a USB sound card because the only connector for the speakers in on the front face of the pc. That is one of the only two complaints I have for this awesome little powerhouse. Complaint 2 is that it does not have a Display Port and I have a DP monitor so I had to buy an active DP cable which plugs into a USB port on the PC. When this is plugged in, and the PC is turned off, the cooling fan on the PC spins up to full speed and remains running until the PC is powered back on. Fortunately, as for the latter, I've found that the monitor displays just fine without the USB cable connected. This happens even when the USB is connected to a standalone USB source. Beelink needs to do address both of these issues... ... show more

  • Wow!
I am just getting into mini-PCs and been VERY impressed with these computers so far! I have purchased several of the 16GB and 32GB models (6 total so far) and very happy with the performance and size. Pros - small, light weight and generally very quiet (usually I don't hear it for my day-to-day work load .. but if I am running a benchmark or heavy computation, I do hear the fan a little bit). The unit has good components (Intel, AMD, Crucial, etc..) and looks good both sitting on the desk as well as mounted to the back of a monitor. Cons - I had to adjust the BIOS so the computer would stay responsive and not hibernate or go into a deep sleep --- I do remote into the computer but once the change was made, I have been able to access it remotely 24/7. A Windows update caused the AMD software to break. I had to search around the AMD site to find the drivers and update. By default the AMD software has hot keys enabled that I had to disable. Minor annoyances. Overall - I've been very happy with the computers so far. I haven't had to use Beelink support and their website seems a bit umm.. thin on content but hopefully that isn't an issue down the road. ... show more
