This is a great federal for anybody who has an elderly adult or even a child that has problems with rolling out of bed and accidentally falling. The assembly is very easy to do. The instructions are straightforward and simple to follow. The side rails and the top rail are very sturdy. It actually straps underneath your mattress so it is set to stay in place and will not budge once it is positioned. Opening it and when I say opening, I mean, lowering the top rail is very easy. You just have to give it a little squeeze on the handle grip and it will lower down completely so that the surface of the bed is flush. It also comes with a great little pouch and a light, which is really nice you know because you can put your phone or a TV remote or something in there and the evening and I’ll have to worry about it. The only downside about this bed rail is that it does have a maximum height that would be of a standard bed but nowadays, some of us have extra tall mattresses due to pillow tops and things like that so the problem I had with it was that when installing it I found out it was actually not able to extend to the appropriate height for it to stay in place. It was about a half an inch too short for it to set correctly so one leg kept coming out. In order to make it work I ended up doing was creating a small platform just with a couple of two by fours that I happened to have laying around. I measured them and cut them just about an inch wider than where the feet rest. Once I did that I cut them to size, then applied a layer of wood glue between the two pieces and clamped them. Once it was dry, I was able to set it underneath the feet to have the proper height that I needed. It works great now and I’ve had no issues, it also feels very well secure and felt sturdy. My steel is well made the straps that go under the bed are just extra support to keep it in place. This is great not just for people who have a tendency to a lot of bed, but for anybody who also happens to have bad knees and has difficulty getting out of bed in the morning and getting a move on. This rail can help because you can set the rail just below where you sit up in bed and when you turn to get your legs down you can use the rail as a brace to help you push up and to standing position so when your having problems with your knees this rail can come in real handy. I would highly recommend it just be aware of the height that the legs extend to the right height so it will fit properly in the bed that you’re going to use it on. The brace that goes under the mattress and the metal piece goes under the mattress as well between the mattress and the boxspring. So be sure to measure the height from the top of the box spring down to see how high you need the legs to extend. Overall I would highly recommend it. It comes in very handy and is very useful for anyone with bad knees or who just has difficulty getting from bed to standing position.

Most of the bed rails do not emphasize "solid as a rock", materials. They are just too heavy. and as most users of rails are senior citizens, they try to keep the weight down. Not so here! These rails utilize sturdy steel and top quality connectors. The feet are larger giving the downward and backward pressures solid purchase on the floor. They also supply a heavy nylon strap that extends between the mattress and springs. There is a spongy -like material around the grab bar that supports a solid grip. Two other features that set this rail apart are the personal bag and the lights that show you the way back to bed at night. Very useful. This rail has it all. You may need assistance in putting it together and attaching it to the bed but you well be thankful for the support when you need it.

This bed rail for the elderly, was ordered for my car accident, disabled sister in law's bed to provide her, standing balance and support, as she gets in and out of bed. Assembly took approx 35 minutes. Excellent manual and assembly instructions and parts list were included, Parts were well marked and numbered, which made assembly of the rail, relaxed, easy and less onerous to accomplish.
