  • Literal lifesaver!
These rails could literally save your loved one’s life. These assembled easily and installed easily as well. I have a couple of family members that are unsteady at best when getting out of bed and these are are a very welcome addition to make their day just a little easier (and eases my mind that they won’t fall while trying to get out of bed). These rails are sturdy once installed and stay in place until they need to be moved. They lend a tremendous amount of support and are truly great to have. ... show more

  • Game-changer for my mom
I recently got this bed rail for my mom who has neuopathy and has a really hard time getting around. This was a life saver - for months she would not even get in bed anymore because it wasn't as easy as plopping on the couch. With this support, she is finaly comfortable with getting into bed. One of her main issues is her own lack of support, and she needed something extremely sturdy that she could grab onto and feel safe. She has has falls in the past that make her really unsure, so it was a relief that her safety is now not a concern. It is lightweight, well made, and works just as it needs to. The added light was a great addition. Thank you helping my mom! ... show more

  • Let it be known: great accessory
TL;DR: surprisingly sturdy even without strap. Great tool Ordered this for someone having shoulder surgery to help her get out of bed. The bed she has is one of those height adjustable beds. Shoved this under the mattress. Was unsure how sturdy it would be. However, pulling down on it, it didn't slip out. So it should be sturdy for helping someone get in or get out of bed. Since I did not use the strap I cannot comment on that. It would be more troublesome to put on as I think you need to wrap it around the mattress or box spring. But it seems sturdy enough without the strap. The assembly was not too difficult either. Just takes some time. However, do not recommend buying for the "light" as I feel it is just a cheap little bonus accessory. Overall this is an incredible tool. ... show more

  • works okay, easy to install
I got this for my elderly mother, but she's not available so I tested it myself. It's a pretty good value. It's mainly a bunch of strong, durable metal. It's easy to assemble, and I did it myself in 5-10 minutes including some getting to know the product time. It's mainly pushing in little pegs, then sliding the metal pieces until the pegs reach a hole in the other piece and expand. There's a motion sensor light, and you stick two (included) magnets on, then put it on the bed rail in the rectangular hole built for it, using the magnets. The light works well and it has a little black button on the side you can use to switch it between on (motion sensing) and light-off mode. The bars that stick out horizontally are adjustable with some easy-to-use clip-like pegs, but the item's generally shown at the longest length and I don't see a reason to make it shorter. There's a strap with a buckle that you can slide through a hole in the bottom of the frame and then wrap around the entire mattress, but I don't use it. It's only big enough to fit a twin size mattress, and I'm using it with a larger mattress. The bottom of the bed rail is long and narrow, which means it's easy to get under a mattress (narrow) and won't slide out from under the mattress (long). However, even when it's under the middle of the long side of the mattress, it gives too much vertically when you put weight on it. I think it wouldn't slide so far down with a bed rail that has a wider base, say, as wide as the top part of the rail. It slides down 20-25 degrees on each side. I was surprised when I first saw it so I tried making adjustments and nothing really fixed it. I don't think the optional strap would have done anything, either, because it's only applied in the middle of the rail, so it won't stop rotation. ... show more

  • Black bed rail
Easy to assemble bed rail set . It’s adjustable and come with a motion light. It’s sturdy and it works well to pull up on to get out of bed . I love the design and has a storage pouch.

  • Customizable setup with options
Compact set-up that offers a lot of customization to accommodate individual needs and preferences. A great feature, that is absent from a lot of other bed rail set-ups, is the rechargeable nightlight option. Magnetically attached to the frame (below the convenient mesh bag holder that’s also a big plus to have), this little light bar is easily removable for recharging yet doesn’t get in the way, functionally, because it has its own metal holding bracket to slip into for safekeeping. Just enough light to help with navigating into/out of bed at night and has a choice of warm vs. cool tint. You could use this side rail without either the light feature or the mesh storage bag as neither impact the functional stability of the product. Also adjustable (and customizable) are the side rails that attach to the left and the right of the center handhold frame. Both side rails are independently adjustable as to how far you want to pull them out for coverage, left or right, plus you could do without either or both and not degrade the sturdiness of the main center handhold frame. There is a strap included for extra tie-down security, if you feel that you need it. (The portion that extends between the mattress and box spring providing stabilization is long enough to extend far into the bed but it’s nice to have that strap option as a backup.) If you have a lightweight mattress and/or a heavier weight bed occupant, definitely use the strap to avoid tipping the mattress off of the box springs. ... show more
