Good unit. My son put it together so I cannot say how easily that went, but he did not cuss and it went quickly. The tray is handy for a snack or phone and remote. I keep it down and use the pocket for my phone and TV remote. I would not place a drink without a lid. Items slide easily if you reposition and move the mattress, the stable bar is between the mattress and base, so if you move it moves. I would recommend a sticky pad type on top of tray. I dumped everything on me when I adjusted and it tipped slightly, everything slid off. Can't get to pocket if tray is up. Unless you have opening on outside. That seemed awkward to me. Stability is good. I am large, 250lb, and it works well for me. Without the strap the unit tends to "walk". When pressure is applied to pull self over or up from bed the legs/feet are moved out and hold to the ground, bringing the unit away from the bed slightly when released. After time I found it about 2 inches out from the bed. Again we were unable to apply the strap due to time and placement of the Queen size bed. Unit is easily pushed back into place. Rubber handles stay in place and are comfortable grip. It took a bit of using to find a technique that didn't make me feel like I was pulling to hard and breaking it. I find it awkward if pulled directly toward the bed. It is quite sturdy when pressure is applied to both pulling over and pressing down to put the weight on the legs at the same time. The legs are adjustable for different height of beds. I apologize if this sounds confusing. The metal is sturdy. Decent quality for a stand alone unit. It has wiggle room. The legs make it feel very sturdy when I stand. I have the unit facing a dresser so the motion light is not as handy for me and with having cats, I didn't want the light turning on all night. In the end, I wished I had thought of this sooner, my back sciatica would have been a little easier to deal with.

So far I'm highly pleased! This is a 24" (28" diagonal measure) suitcase. The rail folds flat and takes up very little space. It was easy to assemble and seems quite sturdy, too. I will update after actually using it on a trip, but as of now I think it will be a great asset and give night-time peace of mind when traveling with my mate who has Parkinson's.
